chapter 18 home

Alec turned and looked at me. He looked scared when he looked at me. "Is that...thats him?" He asked kind of stuttering. I nodded. He walked over to him. "So your the one who stole her from  me?" He asked trying to be all macho to him. Detrius smiled. "I guess so. Niki you never told me that you dated a little troll." He said. I realised that he had fangs. I never noticed before. I was always focused on his eyes. He had a nice smile though. Alec's face got red. "Yea. I thought I told you." I said with a small laugh. He turned around and came at me. I braced myself with impact. He shoved me off the edge of the cliff. I was falling. All of a sudden something caught me. I looked down and saw razcar. Thanks buddy. I said through my mind. No problem. I saw it all. Can I burn his house down? He asked. no you can't burn his house down! I replied. I was laughing. He flew me back and I jumped off. Detrius had him cornered. I ran over and grabbed his arm. "Detrius Dont." I whispered to him. He looked at me and I saw that his fangs were bigger than before. They got smaller when he saw my face. I was scared that Detrius might kill him. Even by accident. I laced my fingers with his. Razcar catch us. I said to him through my mind. He hovered down below the cliff. Detrius and I had prcticed this. I gave him the look and we jumped. Razcar caught us and off we flew. I decided that we shouldn't have to deal with them. We flew for a while and I had to direct razcar on where to go. We finally got to my old street. "There it is! My house!" I said. Razcar flew down to the front and let us off. He flew up to the top of the building. We walked into the library. I walked up to the counter and rang the bell. Detrius was standing just behind me with his arm around my waist. He does it all the time because he feels better to know I'm safe and I feel safer. Plus he gets uncomfortable when meeting new people. I heard a door and then a young girl came out. "Hi how may I help you?" She asked. "Yea um is Brenda here or should I come back later?" I asked back. "No just a second she's just back here." She said. She walked back through the door. A few seconds later my .on came out. She was looking down at some papers. "Hi how may I help you?" She asked. "Mom its me Niki." I said. She looked up and then dropped her papers. She hugged me over the counter and I could hear her crying. "Niki! Niki I was so worried about you where did you go!?" She said still hugging me. "Here why Dont we all go up stairs and we will talk this over. Ok?" I asked. I felt her nid on my shoulder. "Oh and mom-" I pulled away. "This is Detrius." I said. "Oh well nice to meet you Detrius." She said. He took her hand and kissed it. "Its a pleasure to meet you." He said. She looked down and saw his hand around my waist. She winked at me and then headed upstairs. "Alright guys this way." She said as We headed up.
