chapter 3 meeting the family

As we walked down the hall I was looking at him. He didn't seem to notice. He had purple eyes and black hair. He was really muscular and tall. He looked over at me and I turned away. "What? Is something on my face?" He asked. "Uh...no sorry." I said back. "Naw its all good. Let me guess never seen purple eyes before?" He asked. "Yea. Aha. Why are they purple anyways?" I asked. "I Dont know I was just born like this. Everyone here is like that except for your brother." He said. It took me a second but then I realised he said brother. I stopped. "Wait i have a brother!?" I asked him. "Yea you didn't know? He has been waiting to meet you. He knew you when you guys were younger but then you had to leave because of the assassinations because of your birth." He answered. I got so excited. "Well when can I meet him!!" I asked. He laughed. "He will be eating with us." He started walking and I followed. When we got there he opened the doors and it looked like the cafeteria at school. All the tables with benches attached and the counter with the trays. There was a guy sitting at one of the tables. "Hercules!" He yelled. The guy turned around and saw us. He got up and ran over. He picked me up and hugged me. I hugged him back. He put me down and looked over my face. "Niki you have grown way too much for me to process! Aha!" He laughed. I laughed back. "I had no idea I had a brother. And just saying but I also didn't know every guy here was this muscular. Every guy I have seen has a big build to them." We all laughed at the comment and sat down to eat. We had gotten to know each other the three of us. I learned that detrius is actually a really nice guy. As we had been talking I found myself starting to like him. I realised that Alec wasn't even close to as nice or as funny as him. After we finished talking detrius and I went outside to start training. He taught me how to use a sword, a dagger, and throwing knives. As we were walking back in he stopped and pointed over near the dragons. "Niki. Thats your father. He's the king of this place." I looked over to where he was pointing. "Really. Wow. Wait does that make my mom the queen then?" I asked "of course. Why do you think your the princess?" He replied. "Wow. Thats pretty cool. So can you help me find my room. I Dont know how to get there." I said. I looked up at him and realised he had been watching me. He locked eyes with me. He smiled. I smiled back. I realised he was smiling because I was blushing. I broke contact with his eyes and looked away. He put his thumb under my chin and turned my head back to look at his. Then all of a sudden someone opened the doors and we snapped out of it. The moment lost. We walked back in silence. When I walked into my room I closed the door and leaned up against it. I never knew what it was like to feel that way. Alec had never made me feel that way. Now just how am I going to break up with Alec?
