chapter 20 moms new "friend"

He looked really mean. "Um excuse me but first of all I'm not a maid and second of all I am not going to listen to you! Who are you!" I asked him getting mad now. "I am Brenda's new boyfriend and who are you?" He asked. "I am her daughter thank you very much!" I said. Detrius didn't hear us. He looked at me for a second. "Look here that means I am your step dad and so I am in charge of you if you chose to live in this house. Now get out of our room!" He said sternly. "Um trust me if she finds out that you think you can boss me around she will be mad. I am more important to her than you are!" I said to him. "Well then I will just have to fix that won't I." He said. He turned around and went to the closet. I left and went back to my room. "Hey who was it?" He asked. "Its my moms new boyfriend and he thinks that he's in charge of me. He's annoying." I said. "Oh well it should blow over soon enough and he will get used to you." He said. I sat down on the edge of the bed and laced my fingers with his. He got up and put his arm around me. He hugged me to him and I layed my head on his chest. My mom poked her head in the door. "Hey guys I'm going to the store for a bit to get some things. I'll be back soon. Ok?" She said. "Ok mom." I said. She blew a kiss to us and then walked out. "K I'm gonna go get us something to eat want anything specific?" I asked. "No I'm good thanks though." He said. I walked down to the kitchen and looked around in the fridge. I heard someone come up behind me. I turned around thinking it was Detrius. It was the other guy. He had a knife in his hand. A normal chopping knife but could still do some damage. I backed into the fridge and he had me cornered. There was a knife block right near my hand. I grabbed two knives that were sharper than his. I held them to his throat. He dropped the other knife. "Ok Ok you win." He said. As soon as I lowered the knives a little, he grabbed then from my hands and stabbed one of them into my ribs and the other into my stomach. He twisted them and then backed up to leave me there. I took ahold of the knives and pulled them out. His jaw dropped because I made no sound as if it hurt. I flung one knife at him and kept the other one. He picked up the knife and threw it at me. I went to block it and just missed. It hit me in the shoulder. I ran at him with the other knife but he grabbed it faster than I could stab him. He stuck it in my stomach and then pushed me off of him. I was on the floor as I watched him run out the door. I was going to call for Detrius but I couldn't breath. I heard footsteps on the stairs and then he ran into the kitchen. "NIKI!" he yelled. He pulled out the knives and threw them to the side. He took out his first aid kit that he always had handy. he put the healing cream on my wounds and then gave me a weird tasting drink. All I saw was his face full of anger and sadness at the same time and then I passed out.
