chapter 5 your leaving?

It had been about a month later and I was healed. They have special medicines here that heal things three times as fast as normal. I start training again today. Detrius and I have gotten to be better friends over the month I was healing. I found that I actually really like him. I don't think he feels the same way though. Every time I tried to hang out with him alone he would say he was busy. He kept avoiding me and I Dont know why. He hasn't even visited me in the hospital to see if I was Ok. I'm allowed to leave the hospital today and I intend to find out why he's doing this. I was sitting on the bed thinking about all this. I got up and grabbed my stuff. I went out the door and told the lady at the counter I was leaving. She waved as I left with my bag. I knew where my room was now so I made my way there. I opened the door with the key and put my things down. I went and changed into my training clothes and went outside. I started practicing with the throwing knives. Some other people came over and were practicing with me. The whole time Detrius never showed up. I went back to my room that night and sat down on my bed. I started to cry. I just wanted someone to be there that I knew and that I could trust but that person left. I had no one now. I stopped myself from crying any more. Good thing too because just after I wiped my face someone knocked on the door. I didn't answer. They knocked again. "Niki. Please let me in." It was Detrius. I threw my shoe at the door. He opened it. I had my face in my hands. He closed the door and sat down on the floor. "Look Niki I haven't been coming to see you or I haven't been hanging out with you because...I didn't want this to happen but I'm leaving. I need to go to war with the wolf people. That thing that attacked you? It was just the start of the assassination. I just had no idea how to tell you and I knew it couldn't be in public or at the hospital so I just couldn't figure out what to do. I'm sorry Niki." He said. I got up and walked to the door. I sat down beside him. He put his arm around me. I hugged him from the side and started crying. "Detrius please Dont go. Please Dont leave me. I Dont feel safe when your gone. Please stay." I said to him. He pressed his lips against my forehead. I lifted my head and looked in his eyes. "Niki I know you Dont want me to go but I have to. Unless there was some reason that I needed to stay then I have to go." He said. I thought about it for a minute. "Wait what if you Dont have to go. Tell them that I need you here to feel safer or else I will leave, Because thats pretty much it." I said to him. He smirked. "That just might actually work!" He said more happily than before. He got up, took my hand and helped me up. "Ok well I'm going to go and see what I can do about staying and I'll see you in a bit Ok?" He said. I nodded and he opened the door. I grappled his hand before he could leave. He turned around and looked at me. "Detrius can I come with you. I really Dont feel safe in here alone anymore." I asked him. "Yea sure. Let's go then." He put his arm around my waist and we walked down the hall together. Now I know that I'm getting my life on track. Sort of.
