chapter 8 i have to go

It had been another two weeks later. Detrius and I were out training when he got called in by the head of the war section. He said he had to go but he would be right back. I just kept talking to my dragon. It had been an hour and I realised Detrius hadn't come back yet. I looked around to see if he was coming out of any doors. He came running out of one of the doors in front of me. I stood up and as soon as he got to me he hugged me. I put my arms around his neck and hugged him back. I pulled away. It was hard to because he was holding me so tight. "Detrius, what's wrong!" I asked. I knew something was wrong because I could see it in his eyes. "Niki I'm going to war. They're forcing me to go. They said its almost over but I need to go. I'm leaving in an hour." He answered. I hugged him back to me. "Detrius no. please Dont leave. Please I need you here. Dont go!" I started crying. He was holding me to him. "Niki I Dont want to let you go but I have to. I need to go now so I can prepare myself. I'm sorry." He started to let go but I didn't. "Detrius never let me go. I Dont want you to leave. Please stay with me." I said tears still running down my face. He took my shoulders and made me look him in the face. He bent down and kissed me. I leaned into it. We had only kissed once and that was just a small touch of lips but this was more aggressive. I never wanted to leave him. He broke away. I looked him in the eyes. "Detrius please Dont go." I said. He put his hand on my cheek and wiped away the left over tears from my cheek with his thumb. "Niki I'm sorry but I have to go now. I Dont want to but this is what has to be done." He said. "Ok. If you have to I can't change it. I love you." I said. "I love you too. And Niki so that you have something to keep of mine I left my jacket on your bed. Ok?" He said. I nodded to keep from crying anymore. "By the way Niki you are going to have another trainer with you for however long I'm gone. Ok?" He said. "Alright. And thanks for your jacket. I love you." I said. He kissed me one last time. "I love you too princess" he said. He turned away and ran back to the doors. He looked back at me for a second and then went through the doors. I sat down on the grass and I was still sort of crying. My dragon came over and curled up beside me. I placed my hand on him and was stroking his scales. I heard foot steps in front of me and then they stopped. I looked up. A guy was standing in front of me. "Hi I'm Caine and I will be your new trainer. Nice to meet you Niki." He held out his hand to help me up. He seemed nice enough. "I guess your my new trainer. What r we gonna start with today?" I asked. "Well what were you doing before your other trainer left?" I held back the tears. "We were just practicing knife throwing and sword fighting. I'm almost done my training with swords and battle. I guess I just have to start with my actual power now." I told him. "Alright well let's get started with it then shall we?" He said walking over to a big board. It was a chalk board. He started writing weird symbols and words on it. I guess I'm going to have to make this fun for now. Well here goes. I walked over to the board and we started training.
