chapter 24 the begining of the rivalry

I had taken a month to heal and relax And so had detrius. We decided that we were going to stay here for a while. We had someone go and let my mom know where we were. We went for breakfast with Hercules this morning. The three of us were eating when Caine came in. I hadn't seen him that whole time I was healing. He came over and I gave him a hug. He sat down and ate with us. After that Detrius had gone to see how stinger and Vince were doing. Hercules left and Caine and I sat and talked. He had come and sat beside me after Detrius and Hercules left. It turns out he was the same as Detrius accept that he had been mixed with an eagle. He apparently had wings. "Wanna see?" "Yea sure" he took my hand and led me to the roof. He took off his shirt. All of a sudden black wings opened up and stretched out. They were about 8 feet across. He flapped them twice and then settled them. "Wow." I was so amzed. I never noticed but Caine had purple eyes too but they were really dark. He had blonde hair but it was a dirty blonde so it wasn't too light. He was actually a good looking guy. I personally Dont like blondes but hey other people do. "Come here." I walked over to him and he picked me up. "Um...what's going on?" I asked a little nervously. He walked over to the edge of the wall. Then all of a sudden he jumped. I thought we were falling and I closed my eyes. Then I realised we were flying. I opened my eyes. I looked down and I could see everything. It was the same as when I was on razcar but this was more fun. He flew up higher. We were up so high that everything looked tiny. "Ready?" He asked. I looked at him. "What?" All of a sudden we were dropping. I closed my eyes and held myself closer to him. All of a sudden we were flying again. We were closer to the ground now. "Hey you ok?" He asked looking at my face. "Sorry if I scared you. Let's go back." He said. We flew me back to the roof. He put me down and closed his wings. He put his shirt back on. "Its Ok Caine I know you didn't mean to scare me. I'm just not used to it is all." I smiled up at him and he smiled back. "I'm sorry I scared you though. Are you going to be ok.?" He asked. "Yea I'm fine. Wanna go get lunch?" I walked over to the door and waited for his answer. "No I'm gonna fly back to the arena. I might join you later though." "Ok see ya." I walked through the door and went to the cafeteria. I ate lunch alone and then was on my way to the arena when I heard yelling and a big commotion. I ran outside and saw that Detrius and Caine were fighting. I ran over and saw that Detrius was winning. It made me a little happy but he was trying to kill my best friend. Oh no this is not going to turn out well.
