It's been four days since I had left my room. Four days of laying in bed, only getting up for basic necessities like showering, using the bathroom, or changing into fresh pajamas.
I just wanted to rot in this bed for the rest of my life.
However, Scar didn't make it easy for me. He persistently visited my room three times a day, attempting to coax me out. But his efforts were futile, so he would simply leave the food on my bedside drawer before exiting.
This routine continued for four consecutive days.
Scar has been the only person I've seen since Xavier forced me into watching that dreadful fight. I haven't seen him or Hunter since that day, though I can't help but wonder how Hunter was doing.
I let out a deep sigh.
Not having to see Xavier's face has been great, but I must admit, boredom has reached an unbearable level.
So, I made the decision to finally leave my room today. I had already taken a refreshing shower and dressed myself in comfortable black leggings, an oversized sweatshirt, scrunched up socks, and a pair of sneakers.
While gazing at my reflection in the mirror, I noticed the door slowly creaking open, revealing Scar's presence.
Over the past few days, Scar and I had grown closer. He had become the kind of older brother I had always longed for, unlike Jason.
"Is today the day your hibernation ends?" he asked, his gaze fixed on me.
I turned around to meet his eyes. "Don't make me regret it," I cautioned.
"Okay, okay." Scar raised his arms in a defensive gesture.
"Is he home?" I asked, my nerves getting the best of me.
"Is who home?" he replied, clearly pretending not to know.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "Why do you have to make everything so difficult?" I grumbled.
He smirked, clearly amused. "There are a lot of people home, Layla. Just be more specific," he teased.
"Is Xavier home?" I snapped, annoyed that he was playing dumb.
"Oh, you meant Xavier," he said. "No, he's not home right now. He had some work to do, but he'll be back in a few minutes," he explained.
I nodded in understanding, a sense of relief washing over me. "That's good to know," I murmured. Hopefully I didn't have to see him at all today.
"And what about Hunter? Is he here?" I asked, hoping for a positive response.
I genuinely wanted to make sure he was doing well.
Scar sighed, releasing a breath. "Yes, he's here," he confirmed. "But this time, for everyone's sake, please keep your bodies and mouths away from each other."
I chuckled softly. "If you ever want to join us, you're more than welcome," I teased as I brushed past him, heading out of the room.
Scar made a gagging sound. "That's repulsive. Don't ever say that again," he retorted.
"You're such a prude, Scar."
"I'm not a prude, I just don't want to imagine my lips touching either Hunter's or yours," he replied, as we reached the living room and took a seat on the couch.
"Well if you change your mind, the invitation is always there," I replied with a wink, laughing at his clear discomfort with our conversation.
"What invitation?" Hunter asked as he entered the living room.
