"What will I get from this?" Miles asked and Soren's eyes gleamed in amusement again.
"We both know you'll get incentives from your publishing company, right?" Soren hummed as he now also crossed his arms. Miles noticed that the actor loved crossing his legs and arms a lot. Shaking himself out of being observant, his eyes looked directly into Soren's.
"That's if I work with you in the representation of Seven. But based on your proposition, I don't think you want Seven to be involved in this," he countered and he noticed again that the actor's eyes gleamed in what seemed like a mixture of amazement and amusement.
He was sensing there was something he would regret in the future if he kept this conversation up but Miles decided it was too late to turn back now. He knew he could not change Soren's proposition because the man had the upper hand in this and if he ever decided to reject Soren's proposal, all of his efforts would go to waste.
As a matter of fact, he realized it too late but Soren had already trapped him in this agreement. He couldn't back out. Miles knew that that's why he was choosing to know what benefit he could get from this.
If he rejected it now, he would become a disappointment at Seven and there's a high possibility that he would be fired. Jackson was expecting this project Soren was proposing would be a success and if Miles came back with empty hands, he would jeopardize his position. He can't afford to lose his job because the industry is already as saturated as it is. Looking for jobs in his specialty would be hard and given his projects, the slim chances of his acceptance dwindled to almost none.
However, he wasn't that attached to Seven either.
If Soren was proposing that Seven wouldn't be included here, Miles just has to know if the benefits he could get if he ever leaves Seven to work with Soren in this single project were worth it.
"Hmmm... Monetary benefits?" Soren asked and Miles nodded his head. "That's the first thing," he answered and it made Soren laugh lightly.
"You sure know your ways, Miles."
"I've been in this industry for a few years, Mr. Chandler."
"Touche." Soren looked at the ceiling for a few moments while Miles was waiting. His eyes darted to the couch that he left and his butt already wanted to sit on it again. "You can sit again if you want," Soren spoke even though he was still looking at the ceiling and it caused the journalist to blush.
Miles went to sit back on the couch hesitantly because he realized his small outburst earlier seemed to be overly dramatic.
"Money-wise, if you release this film as yours alone, it is already assured that it will be a hit with the public. You'll make at least half a billion dollars." The exact moment Soren said his estimated amount, Miles' heart pounded in his chest loudly.
Five hundred million dollars?
'Holy shit.' He cursed in his head.
That's more than enough to live his life lavishly and he wouldn't have to work for a single moment in his life again. He wouldn't have to suffer eating cup noodles bought from the convenience store nearby when he was starting to run out of money.
"H-How can you be so sure it would reach that amount?" He asked as he stuttered on the first word.
There was no assurance that the film would reach five hundred dollars.
"Because it involves me?" Soren asked nonchalantly and Miles almost bit his tongue with how arrogant it sounded but the fact that he also could not deny it was giving him the salty taste in his mouth.
