[Act 8 - Soren Chandler - Age 18]
It was the day of the party organized by Soren's friends and a lot of people came to attend the event. Most of the attendees were seniors while a good portion of the guests came from the juniors as well.
However, the most anticipated people to arrive were the Chandler Brothers and the one and only Mikhail Cavallero.
The music blared hard through the enormous speakers set up in the garden of the mansion. A lot of people were holding red cups for the liquors that the host may or may have not illegally obtained through their connections.
Since the party started at eight, it was expected to last until midnight or a little bit further than that. Regardless, it was still eight-thirty and the place was already filled to the brim with bodies mingling with each other.
Soren was already in the house since he was included in the circle of friends that hosted the party and he, too, had a red cup in his hand that had half the contents drunk already. He was currently in the kitchen since he didn't want to be with the rowdy group of teenagers in the garden nor did he enjoy the loud music from the speakers.
As a matter of fact, he was on his phone texting his brother and his hyung who still hadn't arrived at the party yet. Soren was dying from boredom and he actually wanted to at least enjoy the party with his hyung here rather than watch some teenagers get drunk for the first time in their lives and act recklessly like making out in the garage or in one of the rooms upstairs and some probably ends up getting pregnant after the school year ended.
"Soren! My man!" A voice called and Soren looked up to see Kyle, the son of the owners of the mansion where the party was being held, waving his hand at him with an annoying grin plastered on his face.
To be direct, Soren doesn't like him at all.
It was obvious how he always tried to compete with Soren in everything he did because his inferiority complex did not allow him to 'lose' to Soren who has practically everything he owns but in better versions.
Soren was living in a mansion, he lived in a mansion as well.
Soren was the rich, tall, handsome guy who got all the attention, Kyle was the second placer.
Soren joined the football club and the theatre club, he did as well even though it was clear Kyle had no talent in acting compared to Soren.
He was always labeled second to Soren and everyone saw him as the try-hard who wanted to surpass the dude who wasn't even trying himself.
"Why are you here alone? Annie just arrived!" He smiled but deep inside, Soren knew that it was probably fake too because it was a widely-known fact that Kyle had been eyeing Annie since they were in junior year but Soren swept her up like he was picking a piece of paper from the floor.
"I'm waiting for my brother and hyung. I'll tell Annie I'm here in the kitchen," he informed but Kyle wasn't having it. The latter slung his arm around Soren's shoulder and looked at his cup.
"You're drinking already? Man, you're gonna get beat if you're brothers see you!" Kyle cheered and Soren resisted the urge to roll his eyes because of how annoying he was. He hated it when people coined Kael as his brother because that wasn't the case.
They seem to have an understanding that just because Soren called Kael his hyung, he was already his biological brother.
But instead of correcting Kyle, he simply shrugged his shoulders and drank the rest of the contents which the boys that gathered around them cheered.
