"About my life. About my Reality."
Stunned, Miles held a breath back as he observed Soren Chandler's face. For a second, he couldn't find the words that he thought were the most appropriate as a response to the act of what seemed like a soliloquy even though it was only for one short line.
"About... your life...? Reality?" He repeated and Soren nodded with a calm expression. There was no hint of malice, sadness, or any negative emotion on his face and even though Miles had repeated it in his head that he was working with an elite actor that could fake his facial expression, he thought that what Soren Chandler was showing him right now was a small part of the reality he was talking.
As a matter of fact, Soren Chandler looked happy. The aura around him wasn't heavy. Miles could subtly feel the light expression coming from the man's face when he said he wanted to create a film that will show his life and reality.
"I will tell you more along the way as we progress with the movie. For now, that's what I am sharing with you."
"What about your plans for the movie?" Miles inquired as he really cannot go further than this if he can't plan ahead. He knew rejecting this proposal was far too late as the consequences would cost him his entire life.
"You can direct it however you want."
"Huh?"
"Since we are going to create something from my reality, we can hold an interview for at least two weeks where I will be telling you all of the important details."
Heaving a sigh, Miles nodded his head as he leaned on the extremely comfortable sofa. He seems to sigh a lot around Soren Chandler but he couldn't help it. There were just too many things going on that his mind cannot keep up with it properly.
"Aside from that photo, why me?" He asked out of nowhere in which Soren placed his cup back on the table again after taking a sip of his coffee.
"There's really no other reason why we chose you aside from the picture you took."
"We?" Miles pointed out and Soren's mouth closed. It lasted for a few seconds before the latter groaned and got up.
"I will schedule the interview a few days from now. In the span of two weeks, I will tell you the things you need to know so you can direct the movie."
"But I don't-"
"Layla will provide you with all the things you need to have in order to make this work. She will reach out to you and you can do the same."
"Whatever I need?"
"Yes."
"Even if I need a mansion?" Miles joked but what he wasn't ready for was Soren's response.
"Even if it is a mansion."
---
"Shit. Shit. Shit." Miles repeated over and over again as he walked back and forth to his apartment. His phone was silently laid on the shelf where his TV was. His eyes constantly checked the gadget.
He might've acted on his thoughts too rashly because there was one major problem that he had to face if he wanted to proceed with Soren's wishes.
Seven.
How will he tell the company that Soren Chandler did not want to work with them but instead, work with Miles alone? Just thinking about betraying Seven made him somehow feel guilty.
Sure, he had no significant attachment to the company but he couldn't just let go of Seven that easily. Miles had been working in this publishing office for more than four years already and if he were to leave them in the air with no words, that would be wrong in so many aspects.
