[Act 4 – Soren Chandler, Age 16]
It was midday and Soren was still in bed. His sheets were wrinkled and so was his blanket as it covered half of his body. Sunlight poured through his half-open blinds and it annoyed him to no end but he was too comfortable to get up and close it properly.
"Mhm..." He mumbled face first into the pillow.
It was summer and school's over for the next three months. He had just finished tenth grade and he would be a junior soon in his school.
"Sir Soren?" A series of knocks echoed from his door and Soren groaned before covering his head with the pillow he was sleeping on. At least it did its job to lessen the voice of the maid knocking on his door.
It went on for a few minutes and Soren was about to give up when the knocks stopped.
It's summer! They should get to sleep in, right? He didn't understand the point why the maids were waking him up so early in the day.
Soren Chandler, for the past six years, grew up to be one of a kind.
Not the good one of a kind.
Because of his condition, he was really taken care of by everyone around him. Sophia never failed to schedule his monthly therapy session for four years and Mikhail was giving him all the attention he desired.
"Mhm... hyung..." he mumbled again as he placed the pillow back down underneath his head and rested.
But because of the treatment he got as well, Soren grew up privileged and a little... spoiled. Especially the young master who was brooding over him like a hen.
Knock! Knock!
Soren groaned again when the knocks he thought had disappeared in thin air returned. He was about to yell when the person who was knocking this time spoke.
"Soren?" It was Mikhail.
He immediately opened his eyes and Soren hurriedly woke up. He even stumbled on his messy sheets as he hurriedly made his way to the door and opened it. And just as expected, he smiled tiredly when he saw the young master.
"G'morning, hyung..." he spoke in his groggy voice and Mikhail chuckled at how childish it looked. Soren's hair was a mess and there was an unusual red patch on his waist that Mikhail saw since he wasn't wearing anything on his upper body.
"The maids said you didn't want to wake up. Is that true?" Mikhail asked and Soren's eyes drifted to the tray the former was holding.
"No..." he denied before stepping aside and letting Mikhail in.
"I brought you some sandwich and cooked you some eggs. I also instructed Miss Melinda to bring that protein shake you loved so much since I heard you are trying to bulk up or something." Soren's smile only widened as Mikhail made his way on Soren's bed and placed the tray he was holding on the nightstand.
"Go wash your face first. You still have eye boogers." The young master pushed him to the bathroom and Soren chuckled.
He liked this. He liked his hyung very much.
Mikhail was spoiling him with everything he needed and there was nothing Soren could ever wish for. His older brother, Allistair, on the other hand, though wasn't that fond of doing the same thing.
Allistair was stern with his words and Soren didn't like it.
'Stop thinking about Ali. It only ruins your mood,' he talked to himself while turning the faucet on and washing his face right after. The cold water instantly waking him up. Once he was done, Soren got out of his bathroom and saw that his hyung was on his bed half-sitting with his upper body resting against the bed rest and his phone in his hands.
