"Good morning, Sir Chandler," Miles spoke as he laid his bag down on the sofa and took his recorder out of it. The gadget made a clacking noise as the journalist placed it on the table and then he took his notebook and pen out as well.
When Soren didn't respond with his greetings, he turned to look at the man and saw that Soren was intently staring at his phone.
He just noticed it now but both Mikhail and Soren use their phones a lot. Like above the average person.
'I mean, it's understandable since they have to communicate with people always.' But those who do not know what the two do in secret would think they were raised as iPad kids since birth.
Deciding not to bother Soren because he knew nothing good would come out of it, Miles just listened to the audio coming from the phone Soren was holding. It seemed like he was watching a race, as the sound of a car's engine could be heard blazing in the background.
But after a few more minutes of waiting, nothing still changed with Soren as his eyes were glued to the screen and Miles was getting impatient. The journalist almost frowned but he remembered he couldn't be too expressive when he was dealing with Soren so he cleared his face of any recognizable emotion and cleared his throat loud enough that Soren's eyes shifted to him for one second before returning to the screen.
"Sir Chandler, we have to continue the interview as you wished because I still have to work on the script-" Miles stopped when Soren frowned when the roaring of the engine in the background got louder.
He could see the man's jaw tighten and his hands clench as if he was angry.
"I knew I shouldn't have bought him that." Miles heard Soren murmur to himself but it was loud enough for him to hear. Sighing, the actor turned to him and crossed his arms which only made him look more intimidating than he already was.
"We're not doing the interview today," Soren informed him and both of Miles' eyebrows rose at the statement. He wanted to demand for an explanation but wanting to do nothing with Soren, and since it is also the actor's jurisdiction when the interviews will be, Miles didn't question it and instead, got up to say goodbye.
Did Soren decide to cancel at the last minute? Maybe that was the reason because he looked pretty upset and it can be disheartening to tell a story if one is upset.
Miles only took it that way so he wouldn't bother asking Soren for the reason. He placed his notebook, pen, and recorder in his bag once again before he was about to stand up but Soren was quicker.
"We're going to discuss something else."
Miles was in the middle of getting up from sitting down so his position was awkward when he stiffened after Soren spoke. He looked at the actor and the frown was still on Soren's face. He didn't say anything though. Like the obedient person he was, the journalist sat back down on the sofa and waited for the man in front of him to elaborate.
"But before we proceed to that, I want to ask for your opinion on something else before I take action and regret it later." Confused, Miles watched as Soren turned his phone on even without waiting for his answer if he would give an opinion. Soon enough, the same noise of the engine could be heard in the background.
'Is he going to ask for my opinion about race cars?' Miles thought to himself and a few seconds later, his own phone rang. Miles looked around before confirming it was his phone and getting it out.
In the notification bar, he saw an unknown account with no profile picture and a random username that had sent him a link to Instagram. He looked back at Soren and saw that the man had returned to looking at him with a frown.
