Austin's POV
I say "do you know what kind of ballet you do?" She says "Balanchine with a mix of Russian." I say "what have you be learning?" She says "just the basics really. After class my teacher taught me how to do a pas de chat." I say "those things are difficult" and she says "sometimes, can I show you?" I say "of course." She does a couple just effortlessly. I say "wow, very good. Can I show you something?" She says "yeah" getting all bouncy. I say "I'm bigger than you, we gotta find more floor." She pulls me to the living room where the family is just hanging out.I chuckle saying "ok, so with the pas de chat, you want to have your arms in third." She says "really? Why? We never use that one?" I say "third is used all the time, trust me. The elbow that is bent, is the direction your pas de chat is going." Sarah says "ok" and I say "nice and tall, port de bras. Don't forget your turn out and don't sickle. Your leading leg goes to passe first, your other leg following suit." I do it and she says "you jump so high" and I chuckle saying "you'll get it. Show me" and she does it then another one, landing in first position.
I say "tres bien! Very good!" She curtsy's and I bow and she says "I'm gonna have to show my teacher up now." I chuckle saying "go for it." Alice, Eric's mom, says "you do ballet?" I say "I did, eleven years. I focus on hip hop now but ballet was a big part of my life." She says "why'd you stop?" I say "teacher wasn't that nice to me. I'm gonna be taking some classes in college though, so I'll be getting back into it." Sarah runs off with Emily saying "thanks, Austin!" I say "you're welcome, Sarah!"
Eric sits on the floor and I sit next to him saying "what?" He says "nothing" smiling at me and a girl walks in saying "I'm here. Sorry I'm late. Congratulations, Eric!" He stands up saying "I'm getting old" and I say "you did legs yesterday, you aren't old." He says "which my knees hate me for" and I chuckle and he hugs her. She sits on his other side saying "I'm Kristina, Eric's cousin" and I say "Austin" her shaking my hand. Kristina says "you're the boyfriend?"
I say "yes" and she says "cute, how'd you meet?" I say "long story" chuckling and she says "tell it." I say "fine" and Eric says "can I leave?" He rubs his face and I say "nope, you're gonna stay right here" chuckling. She says "this is gonna be good." His family listening to me and I say "he commented on my ex friends Instagram post that I was in. She thought he was talking about her and Eric played nice guy for a day. He asked her about him, her and I had a huge falling out, then when I left her house that night I added him. He slid into my DMs and here we are." We laugh and says "what did he comment?"
Eric says "no!" I laugh saying "babe, it was a public comment." Eric says "but she doesn't need to know" laughing and he says "do you even remember?" I say "of course I do" laughing and he says "why?!" I say "baby, I remember everything about you" chuckling. Kristina says "tell me" laughing and I say "he said damn, I have no shame in sliding into those DMs." We laugh out asses off and it makes the older people in the room chuckle. Kristina says "that is rizz if I've ever seen it. What was the post though?" I say "I'll go find it. See if she's blocked me yet."
I go and find it and I say "I'm surprised she hasn't blocked me yet" showing her the post with low volume. Eric is blushing and Kristina and I are just giggling. I pinch his cheek saying "you're cute" and he smiles at me, his cheeks still red. One of the women sitting around say "I'm looking for something dance related for Sarah to do over the summer? Since you've been in it for so long, do you have anyone I could talk to?"
I say "my studio is doing a summer hip hop intensive. It's like a summer camp and it's a whole lot of fun. Since she's younger, it might not be as time consuming as it is for the older age group. It's all summer and it's five days a week for everyone younger than fourteen." She says "why younger than fourteen? I say "Friday night is always a lock in then in the morning we do breakfast and stretching and whatnot." She says "that's understandable. I wouldn't want to go to a lock in with an eight year old as a teenager either. Plus she's need her weekends to go see her father."
I say "it's just an idea, I'll give Eric the information about it and he can send it to you. I'll just give you the owner of the company's number." I send the number to Eric, typing it into the bar without even looking at it. Eric says "how do you have that memorized?" I say "she's been my teacher since I was thirteen, Eric. I see her more than I see anyone else, she's practically my mom." He chuckles saying "you're cute" as he messages this woman I never got introduced to. I say "she's great, you can call or text, she usually responds within the hour. The drive is an hour one way, but you won't be disappointed and the drive isn't terrible. If you want someone closer to here, I have something else."
She says "what's that?" I say "well, there is a Russian ballet teacher up here who just does beautiful work. She does summer masterclasses. There's like one a week, they're two hours long, and they're completely free. I think I did both the summer intensive and the masterclasses in the same summer." She says "those choices sound wonderful, I'll have to look into them. I have her number too, I took her classes for years. If you mention me, she'll let you right in. It's very prestigious, we're lucky she doesn't cost five hundred a kid. She's very renowned, she's won awards for her choreography, and she's very strict but easy to work with."
