Austin's POV
I say "we can do a whole walk on sequence. The intro is long as hell." Vince says "I'm really feeling just a sassy but sexy dance." I say "dare we introduce a chair?" Vince says "I'm seeing it. We'll have to try it. I'm thinking like a line." I say "ooo, line work. I like it. We want to go sexy but not cheap. We gotta work carefully." Vince says "I know, as long as we don't put them in short crop tops and don't choreograph for them like we choreograph for ourselves we should be fine."I chuckle saying "so true. I like the steps at the beginning then the drop but I'm gonna get the walk on. Do we want to choreograph with chairs cause we gotta get them on stage." Vince says "aren't chairs a little provocative?" I say "they can be, but a chair can be a great prop. I think we should have a row of girls condo it in each first wing of the stage. Two rows come diagonally from the corners like a slow runway walk. Chair drag or we'll do something with the hands. Let's use the loop sound in the background go our advantage."
Vince says "ok, we've done chairs before but it adds a variable. It makes it less controllable and more mistakes are able to happen." I say "you hang out with your boyfriend too much. I get it though, let me grab one and we might be able to make it work for at least part of it." Vince says "you're right" and I grab a chair saying "play it again." I drag from the back corner to front and center when the song starts. I do the step thing then I drop and freestyle.
Then when the chorus starts I do shit with the chair, a mix of talking about it and actually moving. Vince says "I like it for the chorus then maybe we can use the lighter chairs and do a transition to move the chairs to the back of the stage. Then do a bit of footwork, roll up then they go forward with something. Maybe a knee slide and we can do some floor work and stand up by the next chorus?" I say "yes, that sounds great" nodding and Vince says "we're so good at this" and I say "I know right."
We restart the song then we go through what we know then Vince says "I like your idea of how they should stand. It's very cool." I say "it needs work, but I like it for now" and Vince says "I think we'll pump this out in no time." I say "oh for sure" nodding and Nick says "you won't be able to see everyone." I say "well stagger the chairs and it'll look really good." Vince says "yeah, we'll need five per row which is ten in the straight line, ten in the back diagonals. We'll have to look at it with all the chairs once they are introduced to the girls. Are you ready for the lock in on Friday?" I say "the lock-in was always the best part of intensives. We'll probably have to room with the boys though."
A few days later
Mandi and Angela come in for the day and I have people pop in and out for Fridays workshop. It's just a slow day really and Vince and I choreograph in between our students coming in. Angela walks in saying "hi, Austin" quietly and I say "hey, how are you?" She says "I'm ok, is Mandi coming?" I say "she told me she would be" smiling and she says "good." I go and stand in my doorway, watching Eric walk down the hallway. Some of the teachers pop their heads out and I say "you're like our personal Bella Hadid."
Eric chuckles and comes over to me and pecks my lips. He says "I have the day off today, mind if I stick around?" I say "that sounds like a question for Angela, not me. I don't mind at all. She seems a bit off this morning, have you figured out why yet?" Eric quietly says "she's crushing" and I say "I figured that one out the first day. Is that it?" Eric mumbles "not quite sure, I'll go talk to her." The girls start walking to my room since it is kind of early, Jacklyn says "hey, Austin. We gotta do a debrief about tonight that I forgot about." I say "that's fine" and Mandi walks in saying "yo teach. Hi, Eric." He says "Amanda" and she says "full name, so scary, Eric."
I go over to Angela and Mandi saying "sorry to interrupt, but teachers have to meet right now. Would you guys want to go check out the auditorium?" They both smile and Mandi says "let's go" and they go to the auditorium in a slight skip. Eric mumbles "I stan" and I chuckle saying "it's too early for them. Have they even figured it out yet?" Eric says "Angela has." I say "that's a thing in your family, you all are a bunch of smart flirty romantics that believe in love at first sight."
Eric says "damn right we are. It's how I pulled you." I say "yeah, shut up" chuckling and he smiles saying "and don't you forget it." He sits in the chair at the desk and I sit on the floor with all the teachers. Jacklyn says "ok, here's the schedule for tonight. I'm gonna need you and Vince to stay with the boys and not cause too much of a ruckus. Ya know, gender norms and we have to keep the parents happy." I say "yeah, that's preferable."
We go over the schedule and Jacklyn says "just have fun. Plan some team bonding things for tonight. Go over your routines obviously but go grab some board games or something. That would be good. Just stuff like that." We nod and one of the teachers say "is he staying?" Eric says "probably not, I'll be here for the day though." They all smile evilly and I say "welcome to your fan club, Eric." He says "they can like me all they want" shrugging and Jacklyn says "wow, he really doesn't care."
One of the ladies say "well, he's still eye candy. We enjoy having you around, Eric." He says "I enjoy being here too" standing up and he stands in front of me. Eric says "I only have eyes for you" and pecks my lips. I say "I know. We should go get the girls maybe." He squeezes my hand and says "ok" and we walk down the hall, his hand tightly gripping my hip. Eric says "the body can only absorb twenty one grams of protein an hour." I say "that is really cool actually."
