Austin's POV
"And who the hell outed you?!" I say "I think it was Veronica and Veronica outed me because we had a fight. She wanted to get back at me, so she outed me. I got back at her by sleeping with her brother in her bed last night. Now my breaks are cut. What do we do?" John says "I'll call the police and I'm gonna go check out your car." He calls and the call is done real quick then he says "I thought she was your girlfriend?" We walk out and I say "she was never my girlfriend. Why would I date a crazy bitch like her?"

He says "teen boys like that shit. My first girlfriend almost ran me over with her car when we broke up. I slept with her friend and she slashed my tires and bashed my headlights and windshield with a bat. He was her backup, probably why she almost totaled my truck with her bare hands and a bat." I chuckle saying "good job, John" and he says "I still have that truck too and the guy."

I laugh saying "why have I never heard this story?" John says "never came up" chuckling and there's people hanging out in the parking lot when we go out. John says "afternoon, scholars" and they all say "afternoon." One says "afternoon, Dean" and it's Veronica. I look at her saying "you have a lot of nerve, don't you?" She says "no idea what you're talking about, Austin." John mumbles "family comes first, but investigation and I'm not gonna hit a minor for you."

I say "like I said before, see you in hell" and John hits me upside the head. I roll my eyes at him and we walk over to my car. He gets on the ground and says "get in the car and turn it on." I say "are you fucking joking!" John says "I went to vocational school in high school for two years to become a mechanic. I know what I'm doing." I turn the car on and the brake pedal goes right to the floor and he says "that is cut. Like pulled out and fluid on the ground fully cut. Not half cut or anything. All the way."

He stands up and dusts himself off. Veronica keeps looking at him. I say "she really has a type." When we walk by them Veronica says "how much trouble would I get in if I did it with the Dean?" John says "the Dean is married to a man. Wow, can't believe I'm talking to you right now. I don't want to hear it from you." I say "ok, John. Let's go" and Veronica says "Austin always is calling dibs on everyone before me. How's his dick, Austin?" John says "my office. Now."

She shrugs, walking in front of him. John mumbles "Aaron's gonna love this story" me smiling and shaking my head. We go into the front office and John says "stay here." I sit down and I text Eric saying:

Me: you would not believe what just happened.
Eric: what happened?
Me: someone cut my brake line and Veronica is being all bitchy and weird. I'm sure she did it and I should go talk to our resource officer. I already talked to the Dean and he did all he can. I'm gonna go talk to our pretty boy officer.
Eric: what did the Dean do for you?
Me: he asked me if I suspected anyone, there are cameras, and he checked my car. Our resource officer has access to the cameras, so I'm gonna go talk to him. Plus we're family, so
Eric: that's good, you're related to the resource officer? You could really get away with anything lol
Me: not really, he's married in. He's married to my cousin, who's the Dean. That's why he went to check my car cause no doubt they helped pay for it in some way.
Eric: damn, you're really covered or extremely bullied.
Me: no one knows about it lol people don't know they're married either. It's rather funny to me. Anyway, I'm gonna go to see Aaron now.
Eric: ok, text me in a bit :)

I walk out, texting John saying:

Me: I'm going to see your man about the cameras.

I get to his office and I knock. He says "busy" and I say "you are never busy." Aaron says "come in" and I go in and he says "how's my baby?" I chuckle and he hugs me saying "what do you need?" I say "can you look at the footage from the senior parking lot for today? Someone cut my brake line." Aaron says "really? That's fucked. Did John call the police?" I nod and Aaron says "oh John, he forgets I'm here sometimes. I'll look at it and when they pull up, I can give them who I identify."

I say "thanks, man." He says "do you need a ride or something?" I say "do you and John get out at the same time?" Aaron says "yeah, we do. Did you ask that to get me to let you borrow my car?" I say "please? I have to get home and do homework then I have to go to class tonight. Then someone's picking me up after class, so would you want to come get your car at like 6:30?" Aaron says "you're glad I like you" tossing me his keys. He says "I'll also call to get your car fixed once they send a guy from the station over. Don't worry about your car. John will take care of it. He might even be able to fix it, I don't know. Happy birthday, we'll pay for your car to be fixed."

I chuckle saying "thank you." Aaron says "so, who's picking you up?" I say "a guy I met online. We're going to a movie. Apparently it's a drive in movie on the water across the border into Maine." Aaron says "that sounds fun, he's coming of pick you up?" I say "yeah" smiling and he says "how far is that drive?" I say "an hour here and an hour back." Aaron says "yeah, I'll come get my car. I gotta size him up." I chuckle saying "ok, I'll see you later. Thanks for the car. You're the best. I love you" and Aaron says "love you too. Get the hell out of here."
