                          Mercedes POV:

I woke up to find myself entwined in Greyson's arms, my bare skin pressed against his, still nestled on the couch in his living room. Gently, I lifted my gaze, taking care not to disturb his peaceful slumber, and studied his features. His strong jawline and tousled dark locks. His chiseled physique was adorned with intricate tattoos. I couldn't help but yearn for every aspect of him, and now he was right here beside me.

"I can sense your eyes on me," he murmured, a smile tugging at his lips, his voice husky and drowsy.

"I'm not staring," I replied innocently, as he rolled over me, capturing my lips in a tender kiss.

"Oh? You're not?" he teased, a mischievous grin playing on his face.

"Of course not," I playfully retorted.

He deepened the kiss, igniting a longing within me for more.

"How much time do we have before we need to fetch Bentley?" he inquired.

"I have to be home by noon," I informed him. "But you're more than welcome to come and see him."

"What about us? Are we moving back in together?" he asked, planting a gentle kiss on the crown of my head.

"Not right now," I sighed. "Listen, Grey, last night was incredible, and I came here wanting you, wanting to experience what we did together. But I'm not quite ready to dive headfirst into a relationship with you again."

As he turned away, the hurt in his eyes pierced through me, and I realized the weight of my words. It wasn't just about sex for him, and his voice trembled with pain as he questioned me. "So this was just about sex?" he asked, his voice heavy with emotion.

"No, that's not what I meant," I replied, my voice filled with sincerity. "I miss you, I miss our family. I just need more time before I can fully commit again. I wanted to make sure there was still something between us before making any decisions."

He reached out, tenderly cupping my face in his hands as he looked deeply into my eyes. "There will always be something between us, don't you see that, Mer?" he whispered.

"I know that," I admitted, my voice laced with a hint of sadness. "But it doesn't mean I'm ready to move back in right away. I didn't mean to lead you on, I just needed you last night."

We lay there in silence, the weight of our words hanging in the air. It was clear that the path ahead wouldn't be easy, but the love and connection between us remained, waiting to be encouraged until the time was right.

I dressed quickly and Greyson still managed to pull me in for countless kisses before I managed to make my way to my car and drive back home to Bentley.

Gregson decided to stay at his house and think about everything that had recently happened between us. I was relieved that everything was now out in the open. After months apart, I did want to be with him again. Of course, I wanted to move back in with him and make our little family work but it was about more than that. We shared love and passion, memories that nobody else could replace.

Arriving home, I noticed that Alex's car was parked alongside Brandon's in front of the house. Intrigued, I entered through the front door.

To my surprise, Alex, Jordan, and Brandon were gathered on the living room floor, engrossed in playtime with Bentley, who was happily rolling around with his toys.

"Well, this is unexpected," I remarked, scooping up Bentley and showering him with affection, holding him close to my side.

Alex spoke up, "Apologies for dropping by unannounced." I couldn't help but notice Alex and Jordan holding hands, prompting me to raise an eyebrow in curiosity.

"We thought you should be the first to know that we're dating!" Jordan exclaimed with excitement.

"Really? That's incredible, you two." I genuinely meant it. Reflecting on their connection and personalities it suddenly made perfect sense for them to be a couple.

"Thank you," they both responded simultaneously.

"Did you spend the night at Greyson's?" Alex asked as I settled onto the couch with Bentley.

At that moment, Brandon abruptly stood up from the floor and made his way out the front door, slamming it behind him. I chose to ignore him, aware of his initial disapproval of my visits to Greyson's house and turned my attention back to my closest friends.

"Yes, I did, and it was an amazing experience," I whispered hurriedly, leaning in closer.

"Ah, good for you. It seems like you needed to get laid. You've been moody lately," Alex jested, playfully receiving a slap on the chest from Jordan as I shot him a glare.

"I'm kidding, mostly," he continued a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "So, does this mean you and Greyson are getting back together?"

I paused for a moment, considering my response. "Not yet, or at least not right away. He wants both Bentley and me to move back in, but I think it's best to take things slow." I confessed.

"That's probably for the best," Alex states. "If he ever hurts you again, I swear I'll have to go with Brandon and kick his ass."

I roll my eyes, feeling the need to intervene. "There won't be any ass-kicking involved. He's genuinely sorry for what he did, and we're determined to move forward and heal."

"I hope you find the happiness you deserve," Jordan says, a warm smile spreading across their face. I reciprocate the smile, holding Bentley close to my chest, secretly praying that Jordan's words would prove to be true.
