Chapter Fifteen

Amber scoffed, and I knew this was going to end badly. For her, anyways. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"Yeah right. Wolves only get one mate. No wolf has ever had two mates. Just because you don't want Liam with anyone else, doesn't mean you can claim him as your mate."

I glanced around and noticed that some of the pack members were watching, while others were trying to act like they weren't. If I am going to be the queen, then I should prove it. Nobody will treat me this way. I could feel Lily pacing in my mind, urging me to let her forward. I know that once everyone sees her eyes, they will realize I'm not a normal wolf. I close my eyes and let Lily come forward, but not enough to fully take over. When I opened my eyes again, Amber gasped. If pack members weren't watching before, they certainly were now.

"What the hell are you?"

I rolled my eyes until I heard not one, but two deep growls. One growl belonged to Liam, who was now right behind me. I turned toward the second growl and saw Marc standing near Jared. What the hell? How in the world did he get here so fast? Not the point. I vaguely noticed everyone looking at him. He clearly wasn't letting his Alpha presence out, as nobody was bearing their neck to him.

He looked at me before making his way over. I couldn't help the smirk on my face when I watched Amber's eyes widen and she bared her neck to the king. I was surprised when he didn't stand beside me but flanked me like Liam did. What was he doing? As if he could read my mind, he smiled and kissed my cheek.

"You are the queen. I bow only to you. This is your fight. I will not intervene unless you ask me to."

He winked before I turned back to Amber. I could see that she didn't want to believe the proof right in front of her. Before I could say anything, I saw her bare her neck to me instead of Marc. I saw another pack member bare their neck from my peripheral vision. I looked around and saw everyone doing the same, including Liam and Marc. Marc was the Alpha King, why was he baring his neck to me?

"Little Wolf, your Alpha is showing. Reign it in."

My Alpha was showing? I must have looked confused because Marc smiled and nodded to me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened my eyes, everyone was more relaxed. Some looked confused, others looked at me with admiration. I knew that I had the Alpha power and would be the Alpha Queen, but I didn't know that it extended to the Alpha King. I definitely had a lot to learn about myself.

Marc and Liam wrapped an arm around me, and they both placed a kiss on my cheek. I watched as Amber's eyes grew big before she stepped away. I felt an urge to address my old pack. They were still my family, even if I wasn't going to be living here anymore.

"Dark River pack, you will always be my family. I know you are all a little confused. So, I want to try and explain before we leave. Yes, I have two mates. The Alpha King, Marc, and Liam. I have two mates because I am a Lycan."

There were multiple gasps and whispers. I wasn't surprised. I mean, we all knew Lycans were long ago extinct. Or so we thought. I let them all have a minute to grasp what I told them. I couldn't help the smirk making its way to my face when I noticed Amber slipping back to her group of friends.

I didn't notice that my parents had come out until I felt my dad's hand on my shoulder. My mom wrapped me in a hug as my dad addressed the pack. I wasn't paying attention anymore. Jess and Jared made their way closer to us. I gave Jared a curious look.

"I take it you are the one who got Marc here?"

He chuckled and Jess rolled her eyes.

"Of course. We can't have anyone disrespecting our queen now, can we?"

Now it was my turn to roll my eyes. It was still weird to think I will be the Alpha Queen soon. The three of us still had things to figure out. Hopefully that would happen tonight. Lily had been pacing in my mind, and I knew she was hoping for the same thing.

"Are you ready to go home, Little Wolf?"

I nodded and we headed towards the car.

'Ask if we can run back. I would love to run with them again.'

Running as Lily sounded like a great idea. We would get back quicker, and I could get a better feel for the land between our packs.

"Hey guys, Lily wants to know if we can run back. She wants to see your wolves again."

They guys looked at each other. Liam shrugged and Marc nodded. He turned towards Jess and Jared.

"How about you guys drive back with the stuff? The three of us are going to run back. Maybe just take our clothes back and leave them near the gym for us."

They nodded and waited for us to head to the tree line and strip. Once I was naked, I relinquished all of my control to Lily. I barely felt the transition this time. Once I felt all four paws on the ground, I opened my eyes. I don't think I would ever get tired of looking at my mates through Lily's eyes. Their wolves were beautiful.

Marc was the first to take off. Liam and I wasted no time in following him. I gave full control over to Lily and watched everything through her eyes. I could tell that the guys did the same with their wolves. We chased each other, nipped at each other's heels and had a great time.

I had no sense of time in wolf form. Liam and I took Marc to a little stream on our pack's property. It was our favorite little hang out spot with Jess. We started coming here when me and Jess were freshman in high school. Nobody else ever really came out here, so it gave us a nice place to relax.

We each started to drink from the stream, thirsty from all of the running and playing. Once we were finished drinking, we all laid near the stream, still in wolf form. I closed my eyes and listened to everything around us. The flow of the stream was very peaceful. After a few minutes, I noticed it was too quiet. Normally, you could hear other animals out here. We never hunted, so the wildlife had become used to us over the years. Just as I was about to look around, the smell hit me. It was the worst smell you could possibly think of. That smell only meant one thing.
