“Letʼs give a round of applause for our first performers, Aces!” anunsyo ng emcee pagkatapos ang opening remarks.

Pumalakpak kaming lahat nang isa-isang tumungtong sa patimpalak ang mga miyembro ng Aces. Agad namang hinanap ng mata ko si Marcus. Baka nahuli lang talaga siya ng dating...

Nakuha na ng Aces ang atensyon ko. In a short span of time, I forgot my worries for him and just indulge on their performance.

They were facing backwards when the instrumental started the whole performance.

Napuno ng hiyawan at tilian sa buong court na kung saan ginaganap ang event.

Unang humarap si Seven. “Never thought that Iʼd be so inspired...” pag-awit niya.

“Never thought that I would find a higher truth...” Si Adrian, agad na sinulyapan si Liana sa aking tabi sa pinakaharap na row sa audiences.

“I believed that love was overrated...” si Jonas.

Napakalamig ng boses niya nang kumanta na siya. Sino nga ba ang mag-aakala na ang pinakamakulit na miyembro ng Aces pala ang may pinakamalamig at pinakakalmadong tinig?

“ʼTil the moment I found you...” si Andy.  He was just enjoying the mood coming from the song and never mind the lyrics.

“Now, baby... I know I donʼt deserve the love you give me...” Cyrus stepped forward. If only Hazel would see him perform.

“But now I understand that...” Primo sung in high note. Everyone didnʼt expect to hear that from him.

“If you want me, I must be doing something right.” Jonas and Primo sung in sync as the other members dance at their back.

“I got nothing left to prove, and itʼs all because of you.” Adrian and Seven stepped ahead of the two who finished their lines.

“So if you need me, and baby, I make you feel alive.” Cyrus and Andy went to the middle to sing their lines.

The four at the back formed a row together with Cyrus and Andy. They synchronized to the beat. “I know I must be doing, doing something right.”

“Wala pa rin ba si Marcus?”

“Sorry to say this but wala pa rin siya. If youʼre worried, donʼt be, late lang talaga siya. Heʼll arrive later.”

“I hope so...”

I saw Adrian picked up his phone. “Where are you?” he asked. Mukhang may kausap siya sa phone. Wait... Could it be him?

After a quite few seconds of listening to someone over the phone, Adrian responded with a very serious face. “No. Dalian mo.”

After ending the call, Adrian faces to me. “Malapit na si Marcus. Heʼs on the way.” aniya.

So si Marcus nga ang kausap niya ngayon ngayon lang. With that said, I felt relieved.

“I recommend you to go back to your seat. He will be here in minutes.” dagdag ni Cyrus.

Tumango na lamang ako at mas lalo pang hinabaan ang pasensya. Tulad ng sabi ni Cyrus, bumalik na lamang ako sa audience.

Tinabihan ko ulit si Lili. Panay ang hiyaw niya at pagpalakpak habang kami ay nakaupo at nanonood lamang ng mga sumunod pa na mga performers. Sinasabayan ko siya sa bawat pagpalakpak niya dahil wala naman akong ibang magagawa. I was clearly not in the mood to clap my hands even if the performers did real great.
