I'M FINE

 when she woke up  felt the twinge in her leg reminding her of everything one again  . she pulled herself in the wheel chair and tried to get it through  navigate  unsuccessfully ending in her screaming frustrated . she got her phone and waited with tears falling down her face .  That's how nat found her , she didn't say anything just helped her into the bathroom and turned to give her privacy while she did her thing then helped her into the shower keeping her eyes up and giving her the privacy yet again .  while Y/N dried off nat picked out her clothe finding a dress perfect for her first day and not to overwhelm here . " here " she threw the dress smiling . " steves outside to help you get down  stair " she smiled softly . " i should of stayed at shield " she growled putting the dress on lifting slightly to let it cover her .  " nah it just a bump in the road " nat shrugged bringing her out to an awaiting steve who lifted her  down the stairs . " turn and around " she sighed seeing an angry  fury and torres  making steve chuckled . " what the hell happened and why did you lie to torres " fury crossed his arms at her . " well  i needed to think i lost one place that made me happy lately thanks to bucket, no offense steve " she looked up at the super soldier . " what " fury asked. " bucky and his little bang buddy irriatated me and i'm fine it will take  a week to heal  " she groaned waiting not to talk about it anymore .  " you fractured you femur and broke another bone " steve looked at her. " kitten has advance healing " torres spoke out . " see karma for lying " she joked  . " im not happy you lied but i'm glad this wasn't a worse outcome  " torres looked her pointedly . "  can we just get food into me please " she asked as steve put her in the chair . when she went in dinning room she seen her chair was gone . " its only til you out of the chair " tony looked up to her. " ok thanks it's only a week of this anyway, advanced healing before anyone tries to explain it  " she asked . " how do you know the length " bruce looked up . " it was one of hydra experiments to see how long i would heal with each wound " she spoke more quietly.   " so i was thinking after this week  on the weekend  we go out somewhere " torres asked , "  i might just stay in  " she said not wanting to look up  . " well that different attitude from yesterday " tony mused ." well i can't go back to bookstore so no point in it " she still kept her eyes trained. "  come on your being dramatic " tony rolled his eyes . " thanks tony " she smiled sadly . "  first place she went when she truly was free was that bookstore so no she not being dramatic  it was her safe space that had nothing to do with any of this life "  fury looked at bucky as he spoke  . " sorry kitten " tony felt like such an ass . " how about i fix you bike " bucky spoke up wanting to do something to help   . " how about you don't come near me or things i love , from now on unless it work related don't speak to me  " she told him coldly but more of a professional tone .     " i'll be in the lab if anyone needs me " she left as quick as she could. " you really let that woman bring up her parents and growing up with out manners " wanda asked bucky. " i told her enough " bucky defended knowing he should of said more  . "  she not going to join the team now that for sure " she adding know what bucky was thinking about . " oh and i'd get checked barnes that book store bunny get around " fury called walking out the room . " he done background check when she started  since she would be around kitten " torres explained feeling awkward  . " come on i'll bring you lab agent "  tony stood up quickly . " oh and tell me how your date goes " sam called . " i will  or y/n will  " he smiled waving at everyone at he left .  Bucky's jaw clenched and his eyes darkened ." ok cut that shit out now , you can't act all jealous after what you did " nat scoffed at him . " ok everyone lay off bucky " steve sternly told them . " yeah of course you'd defend your boyfriend " nat rolled her eyes . 

" ok so today i just need  you to look through these files maybe for the week actually til you can move around " tony explained leading her to her desk . " just give me the files and data " she said not bothering to fight him on it . " wow kitten this is way nicer lab " torres walked in awe . " yeah its great "tight lip smile on her face  . " hey none of that no sad space " he crouched down to her .  " this was a mistake , i should of stayed at shield " she spoke up . " why " tony asked. " cause since i've left  i've have hydra and man of my nightmare after me , my bike is scratched up and i lost the only place i had that wasn't work related  the first place that made me feel like a human " she sniffled not bothering to stop the tears flowing  . " we will find stryker and keep you safe , you will work properly this is just a bump in road , ill have your bike fixed for you " tony said typing into his phone .  " you'll do good here ok " torres kissed her head as bucky walked in sending the agent a chilling glare.  " hey stark i need that paperwork for steve , the punk wont shut up about it "  he look toward Y/N  who kept her eyes focused on the file in her hand .  " i'm going to head back " torres spoke up getting her to look up and smile at him . " aye there she is " he smiled proudly. " tell me about your date later " she called as he walked out .  " wait i thought " bucky spoke up .  " you should stop thinking for a bit " tony chuckled . 

losing herself in her work she didn't hear bruce and tony announce lunch time til tony took the file and bruce wheeled her out .  " race last one there is a rotten egg " bruce called suddenly pushing her faster towards the dinning room making her erupt into giggles . everyone turned with amused smiled ats the sit  the 3 brainiac acting like children .  " i win " she grinned widely. " you had help " tony sulked . " you man child " nat snorted .    " not my fault you didn't think to use your suit " Y/n teased . " damn it she right " he sulked more .  " see thats why she's got the higher IQ " sam teased . " sam  flattery will get you everywhere " she winked .  " good to see you smiling kid ". " thanks stevie " she beamed down at him . the table erupted in normal conversation bar when bucky went to talk to her  , she would ignore him or talk to someone else. childish move yes but was she going to forgive him so easily no . 

that went on duration of the whole week by wednesday her fracture had healed letting her move by crutches and by friday she finally was able to lose the cast completely. the ache would still follow but she was used to the pain knowing it would end soon .  finishing for the night she went to her suite the pending doom of nothing to do the weekend hitted her harder than she expected . when she went into the living area she was surprised to see beth standing there dressed up . " oh great you " she muttered making nat shoot her a look . " i live here " Y/N Rolled her eyes. " well bucky bear never told me that " beth almost sounded annoyed . " bucky bear " steve face scrunched up , he didn't like this girl at all . " thats between you too not me " y/n shrugged sitting beside nat who wrapped her arm around her. " nat you are like so pretty  and such good style  maybe we could go shopping " beth asked . " nah don't think so " nat shrugged. " okkk so everyone here doesn't have manners  " she rolled her eyes at the widow. " excuse me little miss bed hopper " nat stood up making the girl pale. " beth what are you doing here " bucky asked confused . " we had a date " she looked up at him pouting . " oh ok come on then " he smiled unsurely. " maybe we can come back here for a change after " she cooed up at him . " not happening "  steve spoke up . " it's bucky's decision not your " she gripped on to bucky harder .  " maybe another time " bucky spoke up  not liking the way she was looking at steve . 

" you should of stuck up for me in there " she whine as bucky held the door open. " you shouldn't have just showed up " he countered . " i wanted to see you ok , i know we keep saying it one time thing but come on we have fun " she winked at him . " yeah sure " he answered shortly .   " well let go get food " she huffed .  pulling up to  the restraunt he help the door open as paparazzi flooded them making beth smile at them . " is this your girlfriend  barne " they asked snapping pictures  ." no friend " he spoke quickly as her face dropped .  " working on it " she winked . " no really not " he added walking in . " what the hell " she growled . " my life is private and we both know this isn't serious " he said going to the receptionist .  once they sat and order  the silence was dead and so was  whatever they had together.  barely speaking she looked around the room  as her face lit up. a rich business type man walked in being led to vip part  she laughed hard to get his attention which work as he beckon her to join him . " sorry buck it ain't working out " she sang rushing to the other table  only for  bucky to call for check and leave getting asked about his date ditching him . 

walking into the compound eveyone except Y/n were sitting in the living area . " where your friend" steve asked . " ditched me for another dude " he sighed . " where's  Y/n  " he asked . " in her room said she wanted to get her weekend of nothing started early " nat replied .  " tony bought the stories from the press " wanda informed him . " probably deserve it either way " he shrugged.  " we can't let her wallow in her room all weekend " he spoke up earning confused looks . " well the only place she enjoyed you ruined so " nat countered . " we find her a new one" he shrugged. " she won't go if your going " wanda gave him a small smile. "  she's right she told tony he could fix her bike once you weren't involved  " sam told him .  " i really screwed up, didn't i " he looked to the team earning chorus of " yes " flow through the room .
