so close but so far

weeks turned to months as the team tore the hydra bases apart to the point Y/N finally was aloud join . tony tried to prolong it at bucky's request but soon she caught on locking the two in the lab for few hours as a punishment . When they finally let out they apologised . Pepper smirked holding baby morning to her chest as the two sulked walking by . " how is she doing " y/n gushed at the baby . " fine she's the sleeping pattern of her father but other than that perfect " she chuckled looking down at the brown haired bundle of cuteness  in her arm. "  I see bruce is tutoring evie " she added as the two woman walked down the hallway.  " yeah she doing alot better but school still be too much for her so bruce is filling in til the tutor tony hired comes . " you excited for the first mission " pepper asked . "I am and I'm not at the  same time but we need to find him lukas two and half now and evie's 6th birthday is coming up just means more time he's with them " Y/n sighed . " well I find it funny since you joined tony's been wanting you on the team and when you do join he's trying to prolong it " . " yeah that won't happen again " she smirked proudly . " the apartment will be done at end of the week too wasn't suppose to take this long " pepper hushed as they walked into the living room .  " how is every thing kid" logan asked looking from sofa as the two kids and a pretending to nap darcy. " darcy stop pretending to sleep on my dad it's gross" . " sleep on  or with i'm good with either " the woman winked after being caught . pepper and logan laughing at her words while Y/N looked like she was going to vomit  her ear didn't need that information.  the two kids beginning to stir as the adults talked luka waking in not the greatest of mood and evie excited to see baby morgan but before she could even ask for a hold tony and fury walked in . " hey kitten plans changed you and the team fly out tonight darcy you will be stay here tonight to look after kids , i'll pay extra" tony said matter of factly.  " why so soon " . " we think we found the base so we need to go asap get change we leave in  an hour " fury told her softly .  she seen evies smile fall completely . " i don't want you to go" her lip trembled . " hey i'm going to find adam so we can be a family" she comforted her giving her tight hug and kiss ." but what if they take you too" she cried . " they can't take your mom she's too bad ass for that" logan spoke up . " plus daddy won't let that happen or uncle nick or uncle tony " she added. " will you promise to come home" evie sniffled ." i promise " she said giving her another cuddle before doing same with luka before going to get into the uniform . 

after she was ready she began to load the guns before putting them into the holsters she could hear the familiar footprints and the smell of leather she loved . " damn you are a hot mama "  he almost growled taking in the catsuit seeing it hug her body in every right way he wished could right in that moment. " well papa bear maybe later " she smirked turning around to see bucky's hungry eyes devour her . " oh after seeing you in this most definitely "he almost purred as he kissed her lips .  " no making babie's in the weapon's room" nat called walking by .  "   i mean their kids could be with those claws" sam yelled coming into the room . but when he seen everyone face he realised his words and shot them a quick " shit sorry" .  " we will go over plan on the jet" steve told them all  his voice full on cap tone .  they each took spilt into two teams  nat , clint , Y/n ,Steve ,sam,logan and bucky on one jet   while  Tony ,  Wanda , pietro , peter , scott , thor and loki took the other one .  fury guided his own agents into the shield  jets that where standing  by ready to leave .   each leader explain in detail how it was going to pan out  how wanda and Y/N Would enter the  first  followed but thor , logan bucky and steve while then the rest to follow . pietro and redwing to check on the primmeter when they landed , the shield agent would storm once the avengers done their thing first . they left nothing to chance   they had one thing in sight and they wanted it to be  end game on this mission . 

they stood waiting as pietro and redwing went off  once they came back her and wanda went to each side of the building seeking in . both manipulating the guards at the door giving the strong muscle to enter  . nat and clint went into the vent so they could check from above.   the corridors still the same as the other bases before it.  " you should give them name of your contractor tony " Y/N called through the comms  smirking when she heard the billionaire laugh.   she kept herself most in the shadows while she stalked through the halls checking the rooms as she went ones with computers and files she checked them one standing out to her more than other . It was his keeping her mission face on she read through it carefully trying not to let her emotions get the best of her. " adam 10 years old , weapon x-26 " on the name tag on the file she looked at what was done and her stomach churned this time she couldn't stop it from happening she puked into the nearest bin , box or bag she could see. " kitten" steve's voice filled with concern. "i found his file " was all she said before collecting herself. taking it in her hand she walked out not expecting the guns surrounding her . " hey how you all doing can't be a gent and point me in the direction of my kid " she asked scanning them all .  one loud bang was heard throughout the halls . " ok that was rude" she growled the bullet turning and hitting the man in the shoulder. she raise her right hand as they all came off the floor . " i'll ask again where is he " she said looking at their scared faces . they heard of the destruction of the phoenix everyone did what they didn't know was the phoenix has been long gone. " he's gone , took him away from here  an hour ago " one strained . " we knew you were coming" another said shaking .  she slammed them all to the ground before calling for clean up and arrests .  Not taking their word for it she continued to look each  room and looking for secret room to no avail it was true he wasn't here but the sick feeling that was left was their was a rat somewhere warning hydra.
