"Vi you are doing a mistake" Rohit said trying to explain him.
"Rohit u are just over reacting it's nothing" Virat didn't listen to him and went ahead.
"Please listen to me" Rohit said but it was no use as Virat had already left.
His thoughts were broken by Mahi's voice.
"Rohit, is he really? Oh god, is it true?" asked Mahi seeing Rohit's teary face.
"Bhai, I want to rest. Can you call Ritika?", Rohit asked not looking at him.
Mahi opposite to his nature wanted to snap at him and wanted to know what was going, what had caused this situation but he remembered Virat's words, "it's him, you have to think about him" to which he calmed down.
Mahi went outside the room to call her but didnt find her or anyone. He went in lawn to see Virat there.
"Have you seen Ritika? Rohit is calling her for help" Mahi asked him to which Virat composed himself to inform what he had planned.
"Bhai, I sent her to Anushka and Vamika. Rohit has to ask us for help whatever he needs", Virat said and also informed him why he is doing this.
Mahi rubbed his forehead in worry, Virat's idea was good but he didn't know now it was needed or not.
"Kuch bolo bhai?", said Virat wanting to know what is going on.
"I will just check on him once" Mahi said and went in the room.
"Where is Ritika?" Rohit asked not seeing her with Mahi bhai.
"Rohit she is not here at the moment. Let me help you" Mahi said softly trying to help him.
"No! Call her, No don't touch me" Rohit said pushing his hand away and not letting him help. Mahi was shocked with that response. He felt a little bad about it.
Rohit did not wish for this to happen. He did not wish to appear as a cripple in front of his team-mates. He was aware that they were not only his teammates, but his brothers as well. It was difficult for him to endure the sensation of being completely numb and the walls he had constructed around himself being removed. However, he did not wish to be pitied by anyone, particularly Virat.
Rohit did not raise his head to meet Mahi's wounded expression, knowing that he lacked the courage to face him.
Mahi softly mouthed the words "Ro".
"Leave me alone" said Rohit turning his face to the opposite side.
Mahi reasoned that he should be given some space as it would be challenging for him to handle all of this at once. Now he understood what Virat was trying to convey. How difficult it would be for Rohit to comprehend and respond to meeting them after a year.
As Mahi shut the door behind him, his eyes filled with tears, which Rohit had been holding in for a prolonged period of time.
He looked out and saw Virat lying there on the grass.
He thought of a time when he had shouted at Virat but Virat had not left him. He sighed as he remembered how different their relationship had been.
"Rohit what are you doing?"
"Virat ja yaha se" Rohit said and turned to go into balcony.
"Oh sure" Virat said and took a seat beside him.
"Virat I said to leave", Rohit said little loudly seeing him sitting there.
Virat just shrugged at that, "kya baat hai Rohit?", he asked rather calmly.
"Maine jane ko kaha, LEAVE Virat" Rohit said opening the door for him but Virat simply got up and closed the door.
Virat held Rohit by his arm to which Virat was struggling to get out of his hold. But Virat was not gonna let go easily. Virat made him sit and sat beside him, held his hand tightly.
"What's wrong Ro? Tell me, I am here" said Virat softly.
Rohit just hugged him tightly crying how he was disturbed about his career and all the trolls.
"Mai yahi hu" said Virat softly rubbing his back.
Rohit was brought back to the realization that nothing was the same as it had been before, and he was left in a state of despair, throwing his glass on the ground in frustration.
He observed the shattered glass and laughed at its similarity to his own life. Despite the presence of the team, nothing would ever be the same. Just like the glass will never be completely intact, neither will his life.
There'll be bits and pieces all over the place and when he or someone tries to put it together, it'll definitely cut his palms and the bleeding will be a sign of how painful it'll be if it ever gets put back together.
