Part 32. Not friends anymore

After having conversation with Mahi, Virat just entered Rohit's room which apparently he was sharing now, don't know why he agreed to it. He knew it was a stupid decision.

He saw Rohit was sleeping, so he went to terrace for fresh air. There was Jaddu already sitting there. Virat just sat on the opposite side as he needed the air.

Jaddu noticed him but didn't say anything.

"Rohit?" Jaddu asked after a while.

"Lunch and medicines done, he is sleeping. The medications are pretty strong" said Virat, not even looking at him.

"What is your plan here Virat? Till when you gonna silently just help him. Don't you want to do anything?" Jaddu asked, Virat looked at him shocked as it was for the first time he was initiating a convo.

"U used to care a lot Virat? What happened to you?"

"Things are really easy when you don't care, it hurts less" Virat replied to that.

Before Jaddu could even think of it, Virat said, "I have talked to my contacts, let's see what response we get. Then will talk to Rohit regarding that"

"Did you ask him how all of this happened? Because he didn't tell us! May be he will tell you"

"I didn't ask"

"Why? Don't you wanna know who is responsible for this or what happened to our friend?" Asked Jaddu being shocked.

"Our?" Virat asked looking at him to which Jaddu didn't say anything.

Virat quickly composed himself.

"As I said I don't care" Virat said not even bothering to talk to him anymore.

"Why don't you?"

"I came for peace here, so please let me have it. Why are you so bothered about me or anything I should do? As I remember last you told me that we are not friends anymore" said Virat sharply.

That hurt.

Jaddu just got up and left from there.

Virat sighed as he left. He had to control himself but he didn't. He took a breath and looked at sky thinking the hurt face of Jaddu.

Did he regret it? No. Should he avoided it? yes.

Before Virat could feel another panic coming in, his name was called.

"Rohit is calling you Virat" Ash called him from behind.

"Ya coming in a sec" Virat said back taking some deep breaths calming himself.

Rohit woke up after an hour, he noticed Virat was not there in the room, Ash was sitting on the couch.

"Where is Virat?", he asked forgetting how he was hurt by Virat's response, he just wanted to see him.

"Somewhere in the house, let me check" Ash said leaving the room.

Virat came downstairs only to see Rohit awake and waiting for him may be as he noticed some expression soften on his face when he entered the room.

"Where were you?" asked Rohit immediately.

"Just the lawn", answered Virat, as saying terrace would made Rohit a bit uncomfortable.

Three hours passed, Rohit kept asking Virat some questions with normal routine-- all he could get the replies as, 'yes', 'no', 'okay' without going into details-- that was getting on his nerves.

"Virat!" called Rohit a little loudly.

"Yes", Virat replied being confused why he was speaking like that.

"Do you want normalcy or not? Do u want to mend relations or let me be specific, do u want to mend our relation or not?" asked Rohit, he didn't know why he said that but he needed to get that out of his chest.

"Do you?" Virat asked him instead.

"What do you think? I am craving for normalcy in my life Virat. I am trying so hard to talk to you but all you do is act like my nurse or something? Not my-- my friend", said Rohit in one breath.

"Are we friends?" asked Virat in a quiet voice.

Rohit was surprised by it, "you dont think that we are still-- still friends?", he asked.

"I don't know", Virat said.

Rohit was hurt, really hurt by that answer.
