Acceptance heals everything

Part 17. Small step

Rohit was anxious since he wasn't sure if Virat would agree to come back. Rohit was unable to understand Virat's thoughts at the time he left. 

Actually, Rohit thought that he didn't knew him because he seemed to be someone else since the time he arrived. 

Even if he was only thinking and not saying it out loud, the phrase "not his Vi" sounded rather odd.

Ritika walked into the room and stated, "They are coming"

Rohit questioned nervously, "Did he - Virat agree?"

"I don't know, Ash said that he was not in a state to understand anything. Don't know what it means", Ritika said, "I will leave now, make sure everything is okay Ro, only you can make it okay. You really underestimate yourself, they all are incomplete without you specially Vi", she completed.

"Cheeku, kiddo!" Mahi patted his cheeks as his head was in Mahi's lap.

Mahi could just hear, "dark, all white" these were the words Virat was mumbling. He didn't even understand what he meant by that. He just caressed his hair trying to calm him down which was hardly working.

"Ritika called" Ash said from the front seat once Virat's mumbling was not audible.

Mahi raised his eyebrows in confusion.

"Rohit wants that we should take Virat there, I said yes" Ash informed and Mahi nodded.

Mahi saw Virat getting restless a little. Mahi kept caressing his hair to calm him down.

"I am scared" Rohit said in a low voice.

Ritika gave a soft smile, "it's okay to be but I believe in you. You will make everything okay", she said.

Ritika gave him a hug and then left the room.

Once they arrived, Ritika just noticed Virat who was laying on the backseat looking exhausted as ever. Mahi promised her that he will take care of Ro and Vi, she left.

Rohit saw Ash and Mahi helping Virat upstairs in the room.

"Bhai" Rohit called.

Mahi and Ash made Virat lay on the couch thinking that Rohit needed some help.

Mahi asked, "Yes Ro, do u need any help?"

The soft voice made Rohit so guilty that he pushed them away and still here they were again back with him.

"Don't take him upstairs, I - I won't be able to see him" Rohit said in low voice but was very much audible to Mahi.

Mahi smiled, that finally Rohit was ready to accept that they were here with him and he wanted them here. They shifted Virat to adjacent room.

"What happened?" Rohit asked as Mahi came in his room and sat in front of him.

A small step but it's really important, Mahi thought when Rohit asked the question.

"Just little stress may be, he will wake up in 2 hours or so" said Mahi not revealing what the doctor told him. How they didn't know what was wrong with Virat?

Rohit knew he was lying but he couldn't force him. He didn't have that right anymore after what he did to them.

"Did it happen before in past one year?", asked Rohit after a min of silence. 

Mahi sighed, "I am not sure Ro, I haven't seen him much kiddo", he said. 

"What do u mean by that?" Rohit asked being shocked by the information. 

"He hasn't been around much, Ro, you already know he's not playing any more. I had to give him a call two days ago because Ash and jaddu had some information about you. He only picks my call and comes when we used to have ur update", Mahi said feeling upset about how Virat had shut everyone out. 

That got Rohit into thinking, how was Virat all these days?
