Part 53. Gonna be okay

Virat was sitting beside Rohit as he was asleep.

He could move, Virat was still not able to believe that Rohit could move, he had some progress. He could move and hug Virat, he couldn't even understand how it felt. But surely he was relieved.

Though he knew what the doctor said, he just hope it would not be the truth. He dont know what will he do if it was.

He was still in his thoughts when he heard the door open.

KL came inside the room to see Virat awake, he went near him and kept head in his lap.

"Can't sleep?" asked virat caressing his hair, KL nodded in no, "what is on your mind? Why are you not sleeping Virat?", KL asked this time.

"I don't know honestly, just something or the other. And you know it, sleep abandoned me a long time back" Virat said still running his fingers in his hair so that he could get some sleep atleast.

"Don't say that", said KL feeling sleepy.

Virat smiled at his childish tone, "Sleep Rah, I am here", he said softly. 

KL slept holding onto him tightly, he was scared for Virat when he asked about Jaddu and everyone being with him is real or not. It was progress but it was a little scary too. That was the reason, KL wanted to be with him. 

Next morning, it was Rohit who woke up first, he turned his head to side to check if Virat was there only to see KL sleeping in Virat's sleep while Virat's hand in his head with Virat sleeping in sitting position. 

Rohit tried to get up and he immediately felt hands supporting him, "Vi", he called. 

"One sec", Virat made KL sleep properly, he went to Rohit's side of the bed and made him sit properly. 

"Can we sit outside for sometime?", Rohit asked as Virat was done helping him with daily activities and was about to help him to his bed. 

"Sure", Virat made him sit on the wheelchair and they went outside in the lawn, Virat made the breakfast arrangements there. 

"U feel okay, right?"

Rohit nodded to that having his breakfast. 

"Doctors will come today to check on you, just to be sure like precautionary side", informed Virat.

"What precaution?", Rohit asked and he could see Virat getting a little fidgety on that.

"It's been year and more, umm-- you.."

"I haven't been able to move my lower body", Rohit completed it and Virat released a breath. 

"So for that we have to be sure about it, also the pain you experienced yesterday"

Rohit interrupted him, "but I feel okay now Vi", he said. 

"We cannot take any risk Rohit, we got to have the check up done. And anyway they were gonna come today for the second round of physiotherapy sessions which starts from today. The one month course is done, this is new one— they are gonna start", Virat informed leaving no room for discussion or argument. 

"Okay got it, no need to lecture me now", Rohit said being irritated listening to the list of things and how he had to go through the sessions once more now. 

Virat frowned at that tone, "Lecture? This seems lecture to you, Rohit this is not the time for you to be irritated and be childish about this treatments", he said seeing his expressions. 

"Yes I know Virat, this is important for me. There is no need to make me realise that I am a cripple", Rohit snapped at him. 

"I— I was not— I didn't", Virat was shocked by his reaction. He couldn't understand when did he make Rohit feel like that, "I am sorry", Virat said and went inside. 

"Of course you are sorry", Rohit mumbled being frustrated as he saw Virat going inside. 

After 5 mins, he saw Ash arriving in the garden to help him go inside, "Virat sent me", as Rohit heard that words from Ash, he got the realisation about what he said to Virat. 

"Shit", Rohit cursed himself for loosing his cool like this, specially on Virat. 

Ash helped in his room and Rohit noticed Virat was not there in the room. He saw Virat in the garden with KL, they were wrapping up the breakfast things. 

KL was talking to Virat but Virat was lost in thoughts. 

"Can you call him?", Rohit asked Ash once he got settled on his bed. 

Virat came in the room after 10 mins, "do you need anything?", he asked. 

And Rohit immediately felt how they were back to the day one of their meeting after a year where Virat was being formal with him. 

"Vi, I-- didn't" 

"You don't need anything?" Virat asked again in that robotic tone which Rohit absolutely hates. He just nodded in no and Virat left from there. 

After 15 mins, Jaddu arrived in his room, "what did you do?", Jaddu asked. 

"What?" 

"Virat is back in 'I don't care' mode, which is not a good sign! So what did you do?", Jaddu asked him in an obvious tone. 

"Why do you think I did something?" 

"Because no one affects Virat as much as you do and from morning it is only you he has talked with so pretty much obvious" Jaddu said sitting beside him. 

"It was not intentional I swear, it just slipped from my mouth in frustration Jad", Rohit said narrating him what he had said. 

Jaddu put his arm around his shoulder, "don't worry, just tell him how you feel Ro, this frustration and irritating everything. Otherwise he would take a different meaning and run is overthinking brain, you know how he is", he said softly seeing Rohit stressed. 

"You are not angry on me anymore?" 

"Who said I am not? Don't take advantage of the situation" Jaddu said and Rohit rolled his eyes know they were gonna be okay. 

Rohit got into thinking how is he gonna talk with Virat.
