Part 51. Knowing things - II

"So you guys umm already know that my childhood best friend is responsible for Rohit's condition", said Virat, trying to keep his composure, which was so hard that he had to grip his fingers in his fist tightly.

Rohit noticed the discomfort on his face, he softly took his hand and opened his fist, seeing how he had hurt himself a bit. It was really hard for him, for both of them.

"Relax, calm down, it's over"

Virat nodded at Rohit, " I didn't recognise him, I mean his intentions. So when he came to meet me when we were playing, I thought it's just two friends reuniting you know-- but it was something else which I failed, failed to--"

He stopped abruptly feeling his breathing getting uneven again. 

"I can't-- do this, I am sorry", said Virat, KL sat by his side, "Breathe, Virat, focus", he said softly. 

Rohit and others couldn't help but feel bad at his state, how he had suffered because it was his friend, he considered him as his friend.

Rohit felt a little helpless as he was not able to calm Virat down. And KL was doing it effortlessly. Virat seemed at so much ease with KL.

"Firstly, he was trying to harm Virat", Rohit continued as KL took Virat outside to calm him down. 

"We didn't know why he was doing that? But he would do small things, like changing the weights to heavier ones. You remember, Virat got suddenly back spasm in the 2nd Test match"

Everyone nodded at that, "It was done by him", Rohit said. 

"But why would his own friend do that to him?", Jaddu asked being curious about it. 

"And that too childhood friend" Ash added to that.

"Ryan's father was involved in some illegal business, which literally costed people their lives. His father was found guilty and was given lifetime imprisonment", Rohit said informing them as much as he knew about the things.

"How is that related to harming Virat Bhai?" Jassi asked this time.

KL and Virat came back in the room. Virat sat beside Rohit.

"You okay?" Rohit asked holding his hand. Virat just nodded at that.

Rohit kept the hold on his hand and continued the explanation.

"You all know that Virat's father was a lawyer, right?" Rohit asked to which everyone nodded.

"When Virat was playing in his academy at that time this case was going on, Virat's father was the lawyer who fought the case and presented all the evidences against Ryan's father. Virat doesn't know this as after some days when the case reached its conclusion, Virat's father died the next day", said Rohit and lone tear tickled down Rohit's eye when he was speaking about Virat's father.

Virat noticed it. He didn't know whether to feel warm or guilty about it.

Warm, because how Rohit was handling himself and helping Virat by revealing everything that happened. He knew how hard it was for Rohit but still he was doing it for Virat.

Guilty, as it was Virat, his friend because of which Rohit was in this state.

"So he never really got to know the case or its details and Uncle kept it that way. I got to know this from Virat's mom when I talked her after finding the suspicious behaviour of Ryan", Rohit explained to them.

"Still I don't understand, Ryan would know about his father's activities right? Why would he harm Virat?"

"Jad, Ryan only knew what his father told him. Not the right side but the manipulative side how Virat's father is responsible for his condition. Not only that he committed suicide in Jail and blamed Virat's father for that. Now Ryan could not take revenge on Virat's father so he decided to take it on Vi but he was not successful as Virat got a call for Indian Team and he hardly would be in Delhi which made it difficult for Ryan to make a plan against him or hurt Virat"

Everyone was shocked by the whole information. Still the main part of it was not yet revealed.

Virat noticed Rohit getting tired and he looked exhausted.

"I think it is enough for today. We can discuss tomorrow or at night. For now, let Rohit rest and you all also rest. You guys anyway have break now, we can continue this after sometime", Virat said and everyone agreed to it.

They all left the room. As soon as they left, Rohit's whole strong demeanour just faded. He suddenly felt the rush of emotions through his veins.

He didn't even realise when tears started to flow from his eyes.

Virat just moved forward and hugged him tightly. Rohit hugged him back burying his head in his shoulder letting his tears flow.

"I am sorry Rohit", Virat couldn't help but apologize.

Rohit just hugged him tightly and whispered, "it's not your fault"

"But I am the reason for it", Virat said back.

Rohit broke the hug wiping his tears, "Do you blame uncle for what he did like putting that criminal behind the bars?", he asked.

Virat nodded in no.

"Then why would you blame yourself for whatever happened? Yes your fault is that you trusted your friend too much but I don't blame you for it. Anyone in your place who didn't know the whole truth would do that. But you blaming yourself is indirectly blaming uncle for his actions, keep that in mind" said Rohit little sternly.

"Sorry", Virat said in low voice understanding what Rohit was saying.

Rohit just patted his hand in acknowledgement to that sorry.

"Vi?" Rohit called as Virat got up to bring something to eat.

Virat turned and went to his side, "ha?"

"I need one more hug but not the consoling one" Rohit said.

"I didn't understand Ro", Virat asked, confused about what Rohit was saying.

"I need my best friend hug, my Vi's hug which had the power to make everything okay", Rohit said.

Virat stood there surprised by what Rohit said. He didn't even know if he had that emotion still in him tightly give it to Rohit.

"Can you try?" Rohit asked, he knew as they were talking it out and revealing everything, it was also important for Virat to acknowledge his emotions at a deeper level.

Virat hugged him with all the emotional capacity he had at that time. Rohit moved forward and hugged him back.

But Rohit broke the hug immediately realising something.

"What happened?" Virat asked not understanding why Rohit didn't even hug him back.

"Vi" Rohit whispered.

Virat noticed a fear in his eyes and also kind of relief too.

"What happened Ro? Are you okay?"

"Vi, I-- I could move forward"

"What?" Virat asked being shocked that he had it wrong.

Rohit looked at him with moist eyes and said it again, "Vi I could move forward to hug you"

"Really?" asked Virat and Rohit nodded being happy and emotional about it.
