Part 35. Alternative

"I should leave now, take your medications properly and in right frame of mind please. If there is any with understanding, call me. I will meet you tomorrow", KL said getting up as it was late.

"You have a meeting tomorrow" Virat got up too, "wont you meet Rohit?"

"I know about the meeting I will manage, take care of yourself Virat bhai", said KL softly.

Virat noticed how he ignored Rohit's mention so just hugged him as response, "text me once u reach"

"Call me anytime" KL said breaking the hug and then left from there.

Virat watched him going and then after a min of gathering himself, he went inside.

Rohit saw everything, how content Virat looked.

But sadly it was not the way with him, Rohit himself was to blame for that.

Because he left, he ran away.

Jaddu and Mahi bhai were right, he was at fault. He was the reason everything got messed up.

If, for once he had tried to talk to Virat, he would not loose his best friend, his brothers who were worried for him. 

"Did you have dinner? Your medicines?" Asked Virat, entering the room and checking his medications.

"Medicine is remaining, why didn't you have?" Asked Virat giving him the medications.

"You know there is no use of it, it's gonna be same, it is always gonna be the same" said Rohit, keeping the medicines on the table.

It took a min for Virat to understand what he was saying, "What? What do you mean?"

"From one year I am taking these medicines and it has not helped even a bit. See, Virat there is no movement" Rohit said taking Virat's hand and making him touch his feet.

"I don't feel your touch Virat, I don't feel anything" said Rohit, vulnerably.

Virat froze literally.

The moment Rohit took his hand and made him touch his feet, for the first time, Virat actually glanced his legs properly.

All this time Virat was completely ignoring it, intentionally or not but he was.

Rohit waited for Virat's response but then he noticed, Virat with his shivering hands, he touched his feet. He noticed a painful look on Virat's face, a tear rolled down Virat's cheek.

Rohit didn't know how to feel about it, happy or sad.

Happy, as he saw some reaction from Virat.

Sad, as Virat looked in so much pain as if it was his own injury. Also he could not feel his touch.

"This, this all happened because I brought him in our lives, that person", said Virat, being angry and guilty.

"Virat?" Rohit called but he could see Virat in daze.

"Vi, Virat" Rohit called again a little sharply which got him back to present. He backed away and sat infront of him.

"So if you get an alternative which can may be give you some progress of any sort, will you take it" asked Virat a little calmly.

"No" Rohit said.

"Why not?" Virat asked back.

"Because I don't want any false hope, I am tired of it thinking what if this works and I get better but it doesn't work, then what— everyone's including mine, hopes are shattered" said Rohit feeling helpless and vulnerable.

"But you got to try Rohit" Virat said calmly trying to convince him.

"I don't— u don't understand how it feels when everything goes down" Rohit said.

Virat knew how it felt, he sure knew that feeling. But right now Rohit didn't need to know that.

"You are right, I don't understand— but you do so why not one more time, try and fail again. But try the alternatives" said Virat trying to convince him.

"What alternatives?" Asked Rohit wanting to know what was it.

"I will tell you all details tomorrow, now take this medications first, please" said Virat giving him the medicines and Rohit had it hearing that please.

"How come you are in touch with KL and not others" asked Rohit which surely caught Virat off guard.

"Because he never left even if I told him to" said Virat, remembering how KL was always there with him, his Rah.

Rohit understood the meaning behind it, as someone or the other always said something and were not there with him, he could understand that from Jaddu's words.

"Any idea how you gonna convince Jaddu to talk to us again?" Rohit asked remembering what all Jaddu had said before leaving.

"It's upto you"

"Meaning?" Rohit asked being confused.

"if you are ready to share what had happened, he will come back and may be forgive you" asked Virat.

That got Rohit into thinking.

Was he ready?

"Don't you wanna know what had happened?" He asked instead.

"I already know each and everything, except your whereabouts" said Virat.

Rohit was surprised and shocked would be an understatement.
