Since mason was so deep into his head space, I decided to put him into his pack and play while I got his bag ready which had his pull ups, bottle and an extra sippy cup, his paci was clipped to his shirt and I put an extra shirt in the bag as well.
We hadn't even left the driveway before Mason started crying "Dada" Julien reached his hand back to gently rub Mason's thigh and to put the paci in his mouth. Mason's cry's finally quieted as we reached the restaurant. I pulled up to the valet and got out before heading to mason's side, which was right behind me. I opened his door and realized the poor boy had fallen asleep, "hey bubba, it's time to wake up so we can eat dinner " I spoke softly so i wouldn't spook him.
Mason woke up and immediately reached for me, as me and Julien walked into the restaurant holding hands, I had Mason on my hip and told the gentlemen our name for the reservation. I couldn't help but notice that the gentleman at the podium gave us dirty looks and that was making Jay nervous.
I looked at the man "you can get me your manager. Now please" i told him before turning to my husband "you okay babe?" I asked Julien as the man walked away to find the manager, who also happened to be my best friend Peyton. Jay nodded and held my hand until Peyton walked over, Peyton always made Jay nervous, it was kind of endearing.
Peyton smiled and looked at all three of us "i was wondering when you guys were going to come in again" he said looking down at mason and then looked a little disappointed. "Yea, we wanted you to meet our baby boy, his name is mason." i explained as we talked about why it's been so long and how much we missed him.
