Town Battle

We start walking, and I'm carrying Grogu as Din tells her what we're up against, listing all the fire power against us. "Combined, not even your laser swords will protect you. Even with Kira pulling out hers." Din says. Ahsoka grins and I shake my head.

"Lightsabers." The Force speaks through me.

"Hey! You're supposed to ask to take over parts of me!!!" I scold. The Force tsks in my mind, and I can see Ahsoka holding back laughter. She manages to calm down and looks to Din as we walk.

"True, but don't underestimate the Magistrate either." She says, still sporting a small smile. Din asks who she is, and that we were offered a staff of pure beskar to kill Ahsoka. Ahsoka tells us the Magistrate is named Morgan Elsbeth. During the Clone Wars her people were massacred, yet she survived and allowed her anger to fuel the industry that built the Imperial Starfleet. Her business destroyed the planets she plundered.

Din looks at the burnt trees and comments she must still be in business. Ahsoka asks if we saw any prisoners while in the city. "Pfft, the whole city is a prison. The people there were too scared to speak with us. There were three people in electric cages. I did what I could with the Force to ease their pain." I tell her, trying to hold back memories of Grizel.

Ahsoka nods and says we must free them. Din comments, "A Mandalorian and a Jedi. They'll never see it coming." I notice he didn't mention me, and sigh.

"I guess I'll be in the ship with Grogu." I grumble. I don't like it, but someone has to watch the baby.

"Allow me to correct myself then. A Mandalorian, a Jedi, and a Greyling. They'll never see it coming." Din says. I look up and grin, thankful he's not keeping me out of the fight.

"But what about Grogu? He's a youngling, he can't fight." Ahsoka points out.

"He's was there when we fought a Krayt Dragon on Tatooine. We'll manage." Din tells her. She nods and says we will attack closer to nightfall, when it will be easier. She looks me over, and seems to be thinking.

"How much of the Force do you know?" She asks. I tell her what I can do, and she nods along. "Have you used the Force to make yourself faster?"

"Kinda? When jumping a wall with a friend of mine, I used it to push myself up a little so I could reach her hand." I tell her. She nods, and has me hand Grogu to Din. We remove our cloaks, and she tells me to run five paces while doing the same thing I did to boost myself up.

I nod, and let the Force flow through me. After a quick stretch and closing my eyes, I run the five paces. When I look back, I'm shocked to find I'm a lot farther than I should be. I do the same thing back, my eyes open this time and everything moves in a blur as I return to the others.

"Whoa!" I giggle, feeling Din's surprise. I look at him and chuckle, "Next time we're on Nevarro, we should race across the lava flats. See who's faster: you on the Crest or me on foot with the Force!" He shakes his head, but I can feel his smile. Ahsoka trains me a little bit, even sparing with me to correct my form.

Din and Grogu watch us, and I can feel Grogu cheering me on. We keep sparing, and I'm getting better with every fight. But she still defeats me every time. "You're ready now. The Magistrate is mine to fight, but you'll be more than ready for the guards." Ahsoka tells me, holding out her hand to help me up. I thank her, and we all have a quick meal of ration bars so we aren't tired or hungry when we attack the city.

After we eat, we make our way to the city. I ask if I should cover my eyes and hair again, but Ahsoka tells me not to. The guards and Magistrate know of Greylings, and it could make the fight easier. Most of the guards might run in fear. I nod, briefly wondering what it was like for Greylings. Ahsoka feels my thoughts and smiles at me.
