"Empty Base, Huh?"

I watch the kid crawl into the space, and feel a kind of irony about it. Grizel did the same thing, using toddlers to crawl into spaces like this. I guess in this case it's ok, because the kid is willing and happy to help. And if he didn't want to, we'd think of something else. Din is in the pilot seat, flipping switches.

An alarm goes off, and Din deals with it as the kid reaches the wires. "Alright, Sweetie, we need you to get the red wire out." I tell him. He pulls out the wire, and Din tries a few more things. Nothing works, so he comes over, asking the baby if he got the wire out.

The baby just looks at us, then shows the red wire when Din asks. "Good, now put the red wire where the blue wire goes in the board." Din tells him. The baby coos in confusion, and Din repeats himself. As the baby goes to do that, Din tells him to not let the wires touch. Baby looks over in confusion, and Din retells him to put the wire where it needs to go.

The poor kid gets confused and puts the blue wire back, and I rub my face as Din explains again. I must say, he's quite patient with the kid, trying to explain as clearly as a baby could understand. He tells the baby to keep the wires apart, but the baby touches them together, creating sparks and I'm pretty sure the kid got electrocuted a little, making me gasp loudly.

"You ok?" Din asks the baby with a sigh. The baby coughs, and I get an idea. I reach out with the Force, connecting to the baby. I use his little arms to switch the wires, and have the baby crawl back to us. Din checks on the baby as he crawls into my arms.

"Let's not do that again. It... Didn't sit right with me, using the baby like that. Almost like..." I sigh as I trail off, not wanting to say it out loud. Din nods, understanding my meaning. He tells us we should take a break for some lunch, and I agree. We head down to the cargo area, and Din warms up some soup for us. There's no way the two of us are going to get the ship repaired enough to get to Corvus.

Din hands me and the kid some soup, and I thank him before taking a sip. The kid must have been hungry, for he gulps half his soup in one go, taking a deep breath when he puts his bowl down. Din has a cup in his hand, and I'm surprised he lifts his helmet up enough to take a sip in front of the kid. The kid peeks at Din, but Din's arm is in the way of him seeing the little bit of exposed face.

"There's no way we're making it to Corvus." He sighs. I hum in agreement and he sighs, "I was thinking, we need to visit some friends for repairs. How would you two like to go back to Nevarro?" He asks. I smile widely at him.

"That's a great idea!!! Fiona will definitely get this ship back in top shape. Hell, she might even give us a discount!" I chuckle. He nods, and both he and the kid sip their soup in unison. It warms my heart as I sip mine, seeing them grow close. After lunch, we set the coordinates and head for Nevarro. Thankfully, we're close by, so it doesn't take long to get there.

It's not a smooth landing, but it's better than the landing on Trask. We exit out of the back ramp, which doesn't go down fully. Karga and Cara are waiting for us, and Cara looks like she's holding back laughter.

"Looks like you could use some repairs. Are you slipping, Kira?" Karga laughs as we jump down from the ramp.

"I'm good, but this was done by falling through ice and fighting ice spiders." I laugh, giving him a quick hug in greeting. Din and Karga clasp hands and Din asks if our credits are still good here.

"You know Fiona, she'll always take the business!" Karga laughs, as Cara pets the kid's arm. Karga then takes the kid, cooing over him and asking if Din and I have been taking care of him. Karga commands two of his men to get Fiona, and I stay with the ship as they head in, wanting to see Fiona and possibly help.
