The Force

It's the next morning, all of us continuing to the town. With two blurrgs gone, the second one crushed by the flying creature we killed, I'm sitting with Kuill as Din and Cara walk with the hover pram. Karga and his men are in front of them. I can't hear what Karga is saying, but he's talking to his men with feeling. By mid day, we have a visual on the town. My heart drops when I realize I can't feel Fiona or the crew's presence.

"I guess this is it." I hear Karga sigh. I see his men pull out their blasters, and before I can warn Din, Karga quickly turns and shoots both his men. They drop, dead before they hit the ground. Karga confesses their plan was to kill Din and take both the kid and me. I growl like a lothcat at his words, pulling out my laser sword after I dismount the blurrg.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you now!? And how the hell do they even know about me!?" I demand, pointing my sword at him.

"One of the other guild members told them you were with Mando after being shown another bounty puck. But after what happened last night, I couldn't go through with it. I owe you and the baby my life." He says, eyeing the sword.

"Still doesn't give me a reason for not killing you. Why can't I feel Fiona and the others?" I demand.

"They got out. Last I heard, Fiona got herself and her team to safety." He says, "As for not killing me, I hope there's still some friendship between us. I was only doing my job."

"If you just did your job, I would be in the hands of the Empire already." I remind him. He drops his head.

"You're my friend. I didn't even know what the quarry was for this job. But after last night, the kid helping you heal me, I can't do it. But we can still go with the plan. Bait them with the baby, then take them out." He says. I look at Din, not sure. Cara wants to kill him here, but Din says no.

As long as the Imp lives, they'll keep coming after the baby. And possibly me now as well. They will continue with the plan, but me and the kid will return to the ship with Kuill. I give Din a look, and he sighs, "Don't argue with me, Kira. You're the best one to protect the baby with Kuill's help."

I sigh, knowing he's right. I turn off my sword, and Karga has a happy expression. "You learned your name?" He asks. I nod, and walk over to the pram. I lift the kid up, and he isn't fond of the plan, but he understands it must be done. Before they head out, Din tells the other to turn around for a few moments.

Cara, Karga and Kuill are confused, but do so. Once they are turned, and the kid's face is facing away, Din lifts his helmet enough to give me a long kiss. "I love you." He says once his helmet is down.

"I love you too. Kick their ass." I smirk. He nods and I join Kuill on his blurrg. He has the beast run as fast as she can to get to the ship. I get an extremely bad feeling as we make our way. It's only been half an hour when Din comes in on the commlink Kuill gave him.

He tells us they've been pinned down, and to get to the ship and take off. "Kira, don't fight me on this. Protect the kid, I'll find you again." He says.

"You fucking better, Mando." I grit, wanting to go help, but not wanting to leave the kid. Kuill gets the blurrg to run faster, but it seems our communication was overheard. I see two speeder bikes catching up, just as we can see the Crest on the horizon. "GO! FASTER, KUILL!!!" I yell, pulling out my blaster and firing at them.

"She's going as fast as she can! She's not mean for racing!" He yells, holding the kid close to him. I keep firing, but they dodge my shots. They fire back at us, and they hit the blurrg, sending us flying. I use That Feeling to flip in the air and pull out my sword. As soon as I land, I bounce back their fire, making a bike and rider explode. I go to attack the other, but he hits me in the head, knocking me out.
