I hear people board the Crest, That Feeling telling me this is not going to end well. I can feel a human, a Twi'lek, a droid, and a Devaronain. The Twi'lek feels way too comfortable around Din, making me feel some type of way.
The baby touches my cheek, and I hear a thought of who are these people on the ship. I think back to him that Din's doing a job, and these people must be part of it. I remind him to keep quiet, and not let them know we're here. The baby nods, laying his little head on my chest.
Soon we are flying again. I can hear the Devaronain pacing the ship. Only one of their species can make foot falls that loud. They pace for a while, and I hear a feminine voice growl for the one pacing to sit down. There's a loud bang, and it takes all my self control to not gasp.
We make the jump to hyperspace, and I can hear someone tinkering with the control buttons for Din's weapon cabinet. I can feel Din come down from the cockpit, then hear the weapons cabinet doors shut closed. I feel a little easier knowing he's there, and won't let the curious person discover us.
"Hey hey hey!!! Ok, ok, ok, I get it. I'm a little particular about my personal space too." A male voice calls out, "So let's just do this job. We get in, get out, and you don't have to see our faces anymore."
"Someone tell me why we even need a Mandalorian." A raspy male voice states. Must be the Devaronain. The other male voice states that Mandalorians are the greatest warriors in the galaxy. "Then why are they all dead?" The Devaronain asks, making the other two laugh.
I have to hold in my anger, otherwise I'd come out of this bunk and cut their heads off with my sword. They keep talking, but I stop listening. Instead I focus on the baby. He seems ok, although a little scared of the other people. I can hear them talking about the helmet and seeing Din's eyes.
That Feeling tells me to have my blaster in my hand, and just as I pull it out of its holster, I hear a fight. Suddenly, the door opens wide, and I back against the wall, the blaster pointed out the door. I can see a human male, and a lavender colored Twi'lek female. They look at us in surprise and curiosity.
"You get lonely up here?" The man asks, walking up to the door. I aim with my blaster, giving him a look. "Woah, lower the blaster sweetheart, I ain't gonna hurt you. Wait...." He gets closer, but doesn't enter the bunk. He seems to be staring right into my eyes. He smiles, and it actually feels like a genuine smile.
"Aw, you cheating on me, Mando?" The Twi'lek pouts.
"We ended a long time ago, Xi'an." Din's voice sighs.
"It's been a long time since I saw a Greyling. Been fascinated with your people's eyes ever since. The name's Mayfeld." The man says. I don't answer back. He sees the kid in my arms and looks to Din. "You and the girl make that?" He asks, "What is it, a pet or something?" He looks closer and I kick him away, making him land on the floor.
"Get away from me and my son!" I command, turning the safety off. The Twi'lek, Xi'an I believe, laughs as Mayfeld gets off the floor. Din comes in front of the bunk, and holds his hand out for me.
"It's ok, Thief. You can lower your blaster." He says. The use of my old name tells me he doesn't completely trust these people, but it's safe enough right now to not have to be armed. I flip the safety back on and holster it, taking his hand. He has me sit on the edge of the bunk. In the vacctube area is a red Devaronain.
Mayfeld comes close again, staring me in the eyes. "I wonder what happened to make your pupils like that." He says more to himself.
"I don't know, but you need to learn the meaning of personal space." I snarl. He chuckles and backs up, sitting on a crate again. Xi'an saunters over, looking me up and down.
