I'm dreading today. When you believe everything is going your way, something unexpected happens to turn everything around. How could I have missed it? I should have expected it. It's common sense. Freen has buddies. She and I are in a group of pals.
We had a terrific time yesterday. Heaven's door is opening for me, and then it closes quickly.
(A flashback)
Mon, will you allow me? Freen started to close the distance.
Becky is in a panic. Will Freen kiss her lips?
Freen! Freen! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere. Why didn't you bring your phone? I'm worried sick. Nam wants to continue, but her gaze is drawn to Freen's partner, and both of their eyes bulge. Becky recovered faster.
My name is Mon, Freen's private nurse. Becky glances into Nam's eyes, communicating a silent plea and mouthing it, as I'll explain later.
Nam understood. Hi, Mon. It's great to see you. I mean, it's good to meet you. Nam is the name.
Hi Nam. It's also good to meet you. Nam is being thanked by Becky for her support.
What are you two doing here? Nam enquired.
I was about to lick... Freen is unable to finish her speech since it has been muffled by Mon's hand.
We're just enjoying some ice cream. We got it there. Becky indicated the ice cream truck.Nam grinned. Becky is obviously trying to conceal something. She had noticed Freen leaning forward earlier, but she couldn't see her clearly because they were obscured behind a tree.
The ice cream must be excellent. Freen becomes irritated at the interruption. Nam bursts out laughing. I'll see both of you tomorrow. I'll bring the whole group.
That's fantastic! We'll be waiting for you at home. Freen eagerly clapped her hands.
Becky gave Freen a sweet smile. She really adores Freen. It didn't escape Nam's keen eyes. This will be fascinating. Nam told herself this. Please excuse me now. Goodbye, you two.
Let's head home, Mon. It's getting quite hot in here. Becky can only agree. She's worrying about what she'll do with the gang tomorrow.
(End)
Mon! Becky's idea was cut off. Why are you being so quiet? What are your thoughts? Freen probes her with questions.
It's nothing to be concerned about. Do you need anything? Becky responded.
I need you. That is for certain! When Freen smiles, Becky smiles as well. But, truly, whatever it is, I am always here for you. People may not believe it because we only recently met, but time has no limits when it comes to caring for someone.
Becky is moved to tears. I believe you, Freen. I trust you. That is what is important. If we have folks who know and care about us, they should respect that.
And if there are those who object to me being with you, that's unfortunate. I don't think my life will be the same without you. Freen becomes sad.
Don't be sad. Becky beckoned Freen and lifted her face. Those who actually care about me will respect that. We simply need to disregard those who cannot. It's their choice, but it also allows us the liberty to refuse their shi...
Psss.. Freen interjects. Don't say that. Mom might hear us. She resents those words.
I apologize. I just got carried away. Becky bursts out laughing. Becky caresses Freen's hands as if it were natural.
But I'm not perfect. I will make mistakes along the way, and they will disappoint not only you but everyone who cares about you.
Why are you saying these things? Nobody is perfect. If there are, they are not humans, since humans are intended to make mistakes in order to grow. Becky strokes Freen's cheeks. I wish I could gaze into your eyes and tell you how beautiful your soul is. I will always be there for you, just as I know you will always be there for me.
And that is a promise I make to you. Freen rests her hand on Becky's cheek.
But could you please explain why you always wear dark sunglasses? I mean, you're inside the house. Becky inquired.
That made Freen burst out laughing. Mon, we're serious, and then you'll change the subject.
What? Why? I'm just an inquisitive cat. Becky defends herself.
I wear these dark glasses to cover my insecurities.
Oh, Freen. Becky couldn't take it any longer and hugged Freen. Freen nuzzled Becky's neck. Remember that we will all make mistakes. The only difference is the motive behind those mistakes. I know, and everyone who knows you will know that you will never harm others. I'm not sure who or what made you think you were a bad person just for being human, but whoever did will never be a better person than you.
The ringing of Freen's phone cut them off. Freen responded to it. It's Nam; they're here.
Becky can only glance at the door. What did I put myself into?
