Becky's viewpoint

Another day has gone by. The end is near. I just have three days to tell Freen the truth, and I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish it. "Let it be; whisper words of wisdom; let it be." Will that be applicable to me? Will Freen receive me with open arms if I simply say, "Hey Freen, my real name is Becky, your Rebecca?" If it were only so simple, I wouldn't be digging my own grave.

Why didn't I just tell her the truth? You're too afraid to tell her the truth, aren't you? You'll give her hope, only to take it away. But how would you know if all hope is lost? Can you make predictions about the future? Oh god, I'm losing my mind. I'm talking to myself right now.

Freen requested that we go out today for unclear reasons. She stated that she wished to visit the beach. She wants to hear the waves as the water brushes her feet. She wishes to feel the warmth of the sun on her skin. How could I possibly spend an entire day with her by myself? She even wants to stay the night in the hotel, and who am I to argue? I don't even have the courage to refuse. I also lack the strength to keep myself in check. It'll just be the two of us. What if she needs to change into a swimsuit and comes to me for assistance? Becky is in a state of panic. She wanders back and forth in her room.

This, on the other hand, is a good thing. This will allow me to express how special she is to me. I'll pamper her and gradually, piece by piece, tell her the truth. That is exactly what I should do. But first, what should I wear?

Back to Sarocha's place

Are you sure you'll only stay for one night, honey? You bring way too many clothes for a single day. It's as though you're staying for four days. You even packed two towels. The hotel includes amenities. Mary questioned Freen.

It's always better to be safe than sorry, Mom. Mon and I will be alone. What if she requires something?

Why didn't you invite Nam and your other friends? Mary smirks. Freen merely shrugged. Are you up to something, Freen Sarocha?

I'm not going to talk about it with you, Mom. Some things are better left unsaid. Did I give you the sunblock, Mom?

Yes, you have. A knock cut them off.

Mon has arrived, Mom. Allow me to assist you with your suitcase, Freen. Heng made the offer. What's the deal with it being so heavy? You stated that it was only for one night. What are you up to, my little sister? Mary bursts out laughing.

Could you please take your heads out of the gutter? Freen sighs. We will not do anything. We'll just unwind.

That is not what we are thinking. Do you, mother? Heng inquired.

I'm not sure what Freen is saying. Mary laughed. Heng wiggles his brow. Now let's head downstairs. We don't want Mon, Freen's favorite person, to be kept waiting.

Stop teasing, Mom. Mon might be able to hear us. Freen whined.

Becky is patiently waiting on the sofa. When she sees Freen, she can't help but beam and admire the beauty in front of her, which doesn't go unnoticed by the rest of the people surrounding them.

Mike interrupts. Why don't you load Freen's suitcase into the car, Heng?

Sure, Dad. Could you please give me the key, Mon?

Thank you, Heng. I brought the Land Rover. Hello there, Auntie. Don't you want to join us?

Oh no, but thank you. Freen needs to get away from us. Mary can feel Freen pinching her sides. You two should go now while it's still early to avoid being delayed in traffic.

Allow me to get the food. Mike added his two cents.

Oh, you don't have to, Uncle. Becky spoke.

I insist. Actually, it's Freen's idea. She does not want you to starve. She is concerned that you will be too exhausted after driving, and she wants to ensure that you are adequately cared for. Her words, not mine. Mike added.

Dad! Freen became embarrassed and hid her red face with her hands.

That is very kind of you, Freen. Becky smiles from ear to ear.

Here we go. Take care, please. Mike handed the meal to Becky and escorted them outside. They said their goodbyes and then drove away.

It will take five hours to get there, Freen. Tell me whether you want to sleep, and I'll adjust the seat to your liking.

Don't worry, I'm OK. I haven't had a long drive in a long time. It would be great if I could stay awake and accompany you. Wait, Mon, are you good with just the two of us? Are you going to be bored?

Clearly not. You have no clue how badly I want to be alone with you. Becky mumbled quietly to herself. Why would I be bored, Freen? I'm looking forward to spending time with you.

For a little while, Freen remained silent. She was debating whether or not to ask Mon, but she did. Could you possibly hold my hand as you drive, Mon?

Wh...what? Do you want me to hold your hand? Really? Becky asked stutteringly.

Freen thinks a stuttering Mon is sweet. Is that okay?

That excites Becky. She wipes her hand on her shorts first, then grasps Freen's right hand. This feels wonderful. This will keep me awake for the entire day, and I will eat whatever you have prepared for me. Becky overheard Freen's hushed laugh. You are beautiful, Freen. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't steal a kiss from Freen's lips, so she settled for kissing Freen's lovely hand. And seeing the blush on Freen's face made her think, "She's doing the right thing."
