CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN (THE END)

You sighed looking at the calendar ‘it’s my birthday! Yay…’ you frowned and looked to where shanks is supposed to be sleeping to find out that his spot was empty “Why the hell would he wake up since fucking 7a.m.?” you asked no one in particular, you got up and stretched then went into the bathroom and did your daily routine.

You used your haki and sensed that no one was home when literally it was a Saturday! It’s a weekend for fucks sake why would they be out.

You bit your lip and picked up your phone calling shanks but he didn’t answer, neither did anyone else. Now you’re starting to get worried, why aren’t they answering? Maybe they’re busy… yeah! Nothing to worry about! Nothing is gonna happen.. you walked around the house. Noticing the eerie silence that was here… no laughter.. no shouts.. nothing.. your own footsteps felt scary even to you.

You weren’t used to this silent, after all. You had all of your friends move in with you, they filled that unbearable silence. You were worried? Scared? Nervous? You never had to endure such silence it felt like you could even hear the prisoners downstairs breathing if you concentrated enough.

You spent the whole fucking day alone! Nobody came home, which made you more worried so you went to your best solution. Prisoners!

Oh~ how you loved to hear them scream in pain and agony waiting for their nearing death only for them to get healed and the process to repeat all over again!

Isn’t amazing how much a person could do to cause suffering to another human being? You could only smile, as your sanity or none existing sanity kept on decreasing with each passing second.

That was until you got a single text from shanks at fucking 9p.m., telling you to meet him at one of your bases. You were quite confused, why he couldn’t come here but you just replied with an ‘ok’

You went to your room and got dressed in something comfortable yet elegant at the same time, then went and drove there.

No luffy changing the radio every two seconds, no ace bickering with luffy, no sabo trying to calm them down, no thatch laughing his ass off at what’s happening.

Nothing, this kind of silence was bothering you to a very big extent! You weren’t used to the silence! It’s not like you had any peace of mind to begin with!

Once you spotted the base, you parked the car in it’s place then entered just to find out that the whole lights were turned off “Why the fuck is the lights off?” you grumbled and flipped the light switch on “HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!!!” they all shouted scaring the shit out of you, you looked around and saw that everyone was here, you stood shocked in the door way “You.. did all of this for me..?” you asked looking around, a big sign with happy birthday hung neatly on the wall, balloons scattered on the floor, flyers with sweet things like I love you’s, happy birthday, lovely, beautiful hung on one of the wall, a table full of food and big birthday cake in the middle. You just smiled as tears gathered in your eyes ‘they… Remembered…’ you thought and soon enough you were dragged into the party.

You ended up dancing with a few of your friends around, drank a couple of beer, maybe even wine. Heck! Even Mihawk was here! And that itself just say a lot! You kept looking around looking a certain red-haired idiot you loved dearly but couldn’t find him anywhere.

You were beginning to lose hope of seeing him and sat down sighing, “What’s wrong birthday girl?” grinned law who was sitting on the opposite couch with a cup of tequila in his hand “I can’t find my husband!” you sighed as law moved and sat down beside you. “You know y/n-ya, red-ya said that he’ll be here a lot later so don’t worry about him! He said he has a big surprise for you~” law smirked while nudging your side “Torao~ don’t be like that!” you blushed and looked to the side “Now, go on and open your presents now!” he grinned as he put his glass down and then stood up and lead you to the present pile.

Okay, to be real. If this was a normal birthday, you would be surprised.

LBut knowing just what you enjoy is another thing totally. Like imagine who gets a fucking axe? Knifes? Rope? Cuffs? Chains? On their fucking birthday? Literally any fucking murder or torture weapon you could imagine.

With an exception of a few normal things such as perfume, flowers, jewelry and clothes.

Shanks finally showed up wearing a suit with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in hand, he was smiling like the goof he was which instantly made you smile yourself.

He grinned “Hello beautiful~” he winked as he gave you the flowers, you took them and smiled then looked up at him “What took you so long?” you questioned as he held your hand “I just brought a person for you to meet~” he grinned and then lead you outside where Benn was standing beside shanks’ car ‘okay, hold up. When did he get outside?’ you thought confused but shrugged it off as Benn being Benn.

You stood beside shanks, as Benn opened the car door and a child jumped out. He looked about 4 years old with his brown short hair perfectly framing his face, innocent red eyes staring back to you.

He was wearing a suit just matching the one Shanks was wearing and you begun connecting things “Don’t tell me you…” you whispered as you looked between shanks and the child “Yes I did! His name is William” shanks grinned “I adopted him this morning” he added and you looked at William “My child..?” you smiled as you walked forward slightly and sat down in front of the child ‘I have a second chance… I have one more chance to redeem myself’ you thought as you begun crying silently “Wait- y/n why are you crying? Did I over do it?” shanks asked worriedly “No I’m just.. happy” you smiled as you whipped your tears “Come here baby.. come to your mother” you added as you spread your arms out, William didn’t waste a second and immediately ran into your hug, you hugged him tightly slightly shaking “You’re my new mom..?” he asked and you nodded “Yes baby.. I am..” you replied while holding back your tears, soon enough shanks joined in the hug too not wanting to be left out and because he wanted some of your attention.

The others watched from inside as this unfolded before them, cooing at the sight of the three hugging.

They knew y/n suffered greatly from the loss of Kai and now seeing how motherly she got they knew why y/n could easily win being the best mother ever award.

The next day you woke up cuddling with your son while you literally forced shanks to sleep on the couch since you wanted some time with your son, you were a little bit selfish but you just wanted to have your son all to yourself for some time.

So you and William escaped the house at the ungodly hour of 6 a.m. and went to the amusement park, going on all the rides and having fun while shanks was sulking at home for not being able to go with you and his son to the amusement park, you and William drove by the house and got shanks then went out and had a family lunch out.

Then all three of you continued on your day’s activity, you introduced him to all of your friends and they all loved him due to how cute he was.

You being the overprotective mother you are. Didn’t let anyone get anywhere near your son as you protectively had him in your hold the whole day.

When you got back to the house, you had bags full of clothes for your son while shanks had a few bags filled with food. “Mom! I had so much fun today!” smiled the small brunette “oh really? then we can do this all the time!” you grinned “Yeah but next time include me please “ laughed shanks
