Chapter forty-one

You smiled sitting on your throne while looking down at Marie “Well, well, well… who do we have here? My dear Marie.. Did you think that’ll be easy running away from me?” you chuckled as you saw how frightened she was “y/..y/n-san..” she started talking but you glared at her shutting her up ultimately “you’ve lost the privilege to call me that the moment you betrayed me. What did I do to you? Did I hurt you? Did I mistreat you? Did I touch your family? I never ever did anything to you nor anyone in my crew so why would you betray me? Give me a fucking valid reason!” you shouted “You want to know what you did… YOU SAT AND WATCHED AS YOUR FATHER KILLED MY PARENTS! I DESPITE YOU FOR LETTING HIM KILL THEM EVEN THOUGH THEY DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!” she yelled back looking at the ground while your face became blank “Do you know who I’ve sat and watched as they die? Criminals, very bad ones. The ones who killed innocent people, tortured innocent people, raped innocent people.. Do you still think your parents are as good as you imagined?” you smiled as you got up and walked down to her “you are as bad as them you know… Shanks was innocent from whatever happened between you and me, sabo was also innocent. I am innocent from whatever you’re saying. After all, you know who killed your parents. So, what the fuck do I have to do about that?” You chuckled standing in front of her “I…” of course she’d be speechless, you kicked her down and glared at her “ANSWER ME DAMN IT! WHAT DID WE DO TO GET INVOLVED?!” you questioned harshly stepping onto her face “I’m… I’m sorry…” she cried making you stop “Sorry? You’re sorry?” You chuckled your eye twitching “She’s fucking sorry!  You heard her? Such a fucking joke. Do you think I was born yesterday? Who do you think I am?” you asked kneeling down to her height and taking a fist full of your hair making her look you in the eyes “who are you…?” she repeated her eyes full of tears “Who am I? WHO AM I?! what are you even saying?! I’m the winner of the game you~ didn’t know we were playing” you grinned as you let go of her hair “I used to think of you as my own sister, how could you do this to me?” you questioned smiling while tears ran down your face “you used to love me… right?” You asked while making a knife appear “I.. I do love you! My lady! Please spare me” she begged crying more, you looked down and raised your hand that held the knife and begun stabbing her.

One.. two.. three… fifteen times.. you were then you were ripped away from her by John who was watching the whole ordeal happen “it’s enough y/n-san, she’s already dead” he sighed as you dropped the knife and begun crying “John…” you muttered looking up at him “You’re… Not gonna betray me too are you?” you smiled, your lips quivering while your eyes were full of tears. He just sighed and hugged you “I’ll never betray you.. I swear” he rubbed your back while comforting you to the best of his ability “How about you go and see shanks-sama? I heard he was in a very bad situation” he added and you immediately begun whipping your tears “right.. John! Take care of the body, I’ll go see shanks” you ordered getting up and leaving “I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do to save you anymore Marie” sighed John.

You entered the room shanks was in just to immediately freeze in your place, you didn’t expect his situation to be this bad.. multiple machines attached to his body just to keep him alive. Scares running across his chest and arm.

Your heart ached just seeing him in such state just because of your carelessness.. you bite your lip and tried not to cry but it seemed impossible when seeing your other half in such conditions, you fell down to your knees and put a hand over your mouth to stop yourself from screaming.

You felt a hand on your back and looked up to see Benn standing beside you “He’s gonna be alright.. you just need to believe in him..” he sighed and helped you up “Sh..shanks.. isn’t .. gonna die right…?” You asked smiling while tears ran down your face “He’s… Gonna survive.. right?” you questioned holding onto his arm tightly.

He just sighed and led you to a chair beside shanks’ bed “Look y/n, I know this might be hard for you to comprehend at this time but you must be strong. Not just for yourself but for everyone else, many people here just consider you as their moral support. If you just fall down slightly everything for them is gonna crumbled down. If anything happens just tell me I’ll be by your side as soon as I can, you’re like the daughter I never had. So please, seeing you sad and seeing my own friend like this isn’t helping me. At least be the one to lit up the world of others, be the fire that lit up the candle in the middle of the darkness. You’re the missing piece in everyone’s life” Benn stated while patting your back, you put your hands on your face and sighed deeply. “I know it will be hard, but you got me by your side. All you must do is help them, can’t you see these scares that run deep in their souls? They’re suffering a lot and waiting for a hero to save them, especially your friends. Just think about them” Benn added as he turned around and crouched down to look you in the eyes, obviously after taking your hands off your face “I’ve got shanks, you can go” he smiled and you just hugged him tightly “promise me.. you’ll keep him safe..” you whispered “I promise, he’s in good hands” he chuckled as you finally let him go and got up “Ah! Also, how’s sabo? Shanks is pretty fucked up so how’s Blondie?” you asked “The Blondie isn’t that bad, He’s in the room at the end of the hall from what I heard your servants talking” he answered and you begun walking only to trip on thin air making you and Benn laugh “Just what I needed!” you chuckled
