Y/n POV:
I opened my eyes slowly looking around, once I realized I’m in a hospital I sat up fast and took off the medical machines attached to my body.
I ran out of the room and looked around ‘good thing my devil fruit is keeping me alive’ I thought as I took a nurse by her shoulders and glared at her “Where the fuck is shanks le roux’s room?” I asked, she shook then stuttered “2-265” she said and you threw her aside.
You sprinted towards the room and barged in to see Benn and Yasopp there “Y/N?!” yelled the latter as you walked in looking at your red-haired lover “you’re not supposed to be here y/n, you should be resting” sighed Benn “He’s gonna be fine right?” you asked as Benn sat you on the chair “He’s in a coma for a while, gonna wake up in a few months probably, that’s what the doctor said” replied Benn “Should we get you back to your room y/n? You had a very bad seizure. You were out cold for 3 weeks” asked Yasopp making you glare at him “I’m staying here, get a doctor to check me here and then discharge me as well. I’m fine” you sighed holding the red-haired’s hand, all the usual warmth has been long gone due to the hospital being so cold.
Your eyes darkening each passing second ‘doflamingo betrayed me? I’m so gonna show him some hell. I also need to have a ‘chat’ with my ‘subordinate’ John’ I thought calmly as I saw my parents ghost looming over shanks’ body. “could you please go guys, I wanna be alone with him for a while” you plead, the two men looked at each other then they left closing the door behind. “What?” you asked glaring at them “just checking on you. Kinda thought you’d be breaking down by now” chuckled your father and your mother hit him “stop being a bitch, sorry about him dear. How do you feel?” she asked “doflamingo is the traitor I’ve been looking for, I’m kinda disappointed” you sighed holding shanks’ hand tighter “my plan went a bit wrong but it’s still happening smoothly as I’d like to think.” You added biting your lip “Don’t worry honey, I’ll kick the bastard’s ass who made you sad, I have a plan” grinned your father “mind explaining?” you asked “so the plan goes as *************!” he explained shocking you “you’re a fucking genius” you grinned “Duh! You’re not the only one with the bright brain” grinned the man back “Don’t feed his ego y/n! I’m taking him and leaving” sighed your mother and left with your father.
Soon enough the two returned with a doctor who checked on your health and discharged you since you were as good as you can be.
“guard my idiot please, I have an unfinished job that I have to do” you smiled at Benn and Yasopp then left the hospital. You teleported to your house changed clothes then went to your base where you picked up your gun and sword.
You walked to an abandoned building at the outskirts of town where a man was waiting. “John” you stated glaring at him, as soon as he saw you he busted out crying “MY LADYYYYY!” he cried as he fell to the ground “I’m sorry!! I didn’t mean to shoot shanks there! I needed to get the trust of big W somehow and that was the only way! I’m really sorry!” he apologized making you sigh “What did you gather?” you asked “Right!” he shouted getting up “so his real name is Wassim! He is a scientist that experiment on people with devil fruits. His know as big W on the black market. He sell the organs of those who he murder, mostly known for his brutality. As I’ve gathered, his next move is kidnapping you to do some experiments on you my lady!” he added explaining “great, if I play my cards right then I’ll win this with less damage” you muttered “what should I do now?” he asked “stay where you are, keep reporting to me whatever happen. If he really kidnap me then I’ll need you to take care of me secretly” you sighed looking at your hands, you took your gun and took the safety off “what are you up to now?” he asked “if they ask you what you were doing here, tell them you had an encounter with me and I shot you for nearly killing my husband” you smiled as the loud bang rang through the air and he fell down on his knees in front of you “go now and tell your boss that I’m coming for his head” you added as you turned around and left the building.
//Days before the wedding//
“Why would I do that?!” Yelled John as he stood up from his chair “listen here my dear, you are the only one who have a grudge against my father. And I Know that poisoned him, be grateful that I covered that up by killing him off with that sickness. And you’re my friend right? And friends would do anything to help each others. Why won’t you help me? Didn’t we grow up as best friends?! I didn’t think you could refuse such a simple task like this from me” you stated as tears gathered in your eyes “Woah! Woah don’t cry! I’ll do it, just tell me how to do it, slowly” he said making you smile “So, firstly we’d have to give you a few small cuts here and there. Secondly you’ll go to this ‘big W’ guy and act like you escaped from me and you’re asking for his protection. If he asks for a way to prove it, then tell him the date of my wedding. Shoot shanks but not something fatal okay? I don’t want him to suffer that much although I love seeing people suffer. Ahm anyway, afterwards I’d act like I was passing through a shock and yell your name out loud and tell the guards to follow you. After a few weeks we’ll meet at that old building where we used to train before. And I want you to report everything to me. That’s how the plan goes, if anything happens or you mess up in a step call me immediately.” You stated smiling “Alright, but why won’t I shoot you?” he asked “because deep down, you’re a softy that can’t hurt me” you sighed “Moreover, you don’t know shanks that well. You’ll feel less guilty and that won’t affect your acting. But if you do shoot me then you’ll be guilty and it will mess up the whole plan that I worked hard for” you added “Hai! I will get this plan done before you even know it ma’am! Or should I say enemy?” he grinned “Alright! That wraps it up! You can start with I’m a victim of you in the torture room. Ah! And if you can, find out who that spy work for!” you grinned back getting out a knife “let’s get started”
//Back to present//
When you returned to the hospital it was nighttime, meaning that you were gonna stay there for tonight.
When you entered the room, you found Benn, Yasopp and Lucky roux there “hey boys” you smiled “Hey girlie! Ya staying here tonight?” asked Yasopp putting a hand on your shoulder “yeah! What kind of wife would I be if I didn’t stay by my husband’s side” you joked poking his side with your elbow, he groaned letting you go and holding his side where you ‘poked’ him “well goodnight y/n, if you need anything just call me” smiled Benn dragging the two out while lucky waved at you.
You sat down at shanks’ side and held his hand
‘Sitting at the bed with the halo at your head’
You saw shanks’ silhouette on the bed with a halo on his head
‘Was it all a disguise, like junior high?’
You didn’t want to believe this, if you agreed to be in his place none of this would’ve happened
‘Where everything was fiction, future, and prediction’

You sighed as the silhouette faded from your sight. And somehow a gentle wind passes you like it dumped all your sorrow away. A few tears escaped your eye and then you were full on crying, you didn't know why. But you knew you were losing this war between yourself.

Shanks’ voice rang in your ears and as soon as it came it disappeared. Lulling you to a dreamless sleep.
