HEAVENLY'S POV:
Maxx walks me through the parking lot of my building and all the way around it to the stairs. My eyes keep gazing at the heavy snow covering the ground. Looks like it will stick around this year. It's almost March and winter is still merciless. Maybe I could organize a play day in the snow. There's a good hill for sliding on the edge of the city. I could invite a couple of friends from college. Certainly Aliyah, Baek-Hyun and.. Jordan. My eyes become a bit expressionless at the thought of him. I guess I would have to invite his girlfriend too. It's been a few days since we last hung out, being busy with the midterms and all but now they are finally over. Our last exam was finished yesterday. I haven't actually been seeing him, or Yvonne ever since that incident with the blondie, the event that humbled me and made me crawl back into my shell. I've been letting myself run wild and feel too much, break personal laws and morals and turn into a hypocrite when it comes to that guy. Besides, seeing him and Yvonne made it crystal clear to me how well they go together and I just couldn't help but show them my support, although faking it slightly, since Alexa made me open my eyes.
"So, that's why I thought... "
Pause. A voice seems to be echoing somewhere.
"Are you listening?"
Blink. One, two..
"Heavenly? Hey. "
My eyes snap back to my boyfriend's a bit annoyed face. That's when I realize he has been talking to me the entire time.
"Oh, Maxx, sorry. I spaced out. What were you saying?"
He eyes me closely as we walk up the stairs that lead to my apartment, "You always seem to be losing head lately. Are you okay?"
I nod smiling lightly, "Yeah. Sorry. I'm just tired out by the exams and all that studying.. "
Again, that same splash of guilt all over my heart. What is wrong with me? Why can't I tell a soul how I really feel? I feel like I'm holding onto a thread on the edge of a cliff.
"Look! It's Maxx and Heavenly! ", a voice speaks out our names from behind, just as we finish climbing the stairs. Maxx and I turn around to see Yvonne giving us a wave, walking up the stairs next to Jordan.
"Hi guys, " I greet them evenly speaking. It's practice, really, speaking to someone that makes you feel upset; it's almost no different than reading a book that's not interesting at all, and you'd come across many of those in college.
They walk up to us as we stand on the terrace in front of our entrances. Jordan gives us a brief smile, "Do you wanna hang out? We are just about to see what Baek-Hyun is up to. "
I glance at Maxx who seems a bit stiff but he nods at me and shrugs, "I guess we could. "
Jordan's eyes study my boyfriend's face a bit, as if trying to reveal some inner thoughts Maxx is having. They've had nothing but interactions like these which makes me so confused. Does Jordan still not like him? It's been like forever since we got together. He should be used to him now.
"That would be awesome, " I say and then excitement overtakes me and I clap my hands, "I even thought of going out to play in the snow, I know just the right place for sliding! It's a fifteen minute ride from here. We could bring tea to keep ourselves warm! Gosh, I haven't made a snowman in like forever. "
After I speak up those things, they kind of feel like a kid has spoken them. Maxx is of no help as he laughs a bit, amused, "That's so childish. Isn't it better to just get warm inside and play a card game or something? "
