When it all explodes...
Prepare yourselves.***
Slytherin vs Gryffindor!
What a great way to open the season. I wonder if the four founders of Hogwarts collectively decided to start the game off with these two houses solely because of the colours. Red and green, Christmas colours. It's only the fourth of November though. Close enough am I right?
To show my support, I wear a dark green jumper and my Slytherin scarf. I wanted to wear Malfoy's jumper since I never returned it to him, but, I feel like that would start a lot of unwanted gossip because the only way to get a hold of those Quidditch jumpers is to be on the team or have someone give it to you. I think I'll just wear the jumper as a sort of comfort clothing, no one really needs to know about it.
It shouldn't be too cold today, either way, I'll be fine. Hopefully, as I'm wearing a skirt. To show my respect towards Cormac, I wear my hair half-up and half-down, gathered by a red ribbon. Of course I can't be seen in full red otherwise I'd be deemed a traitor and besides, I support my own house. I coat my lips in a little red before leaving with everyone else.
The Quidditch pitch hadn't defrosted overnight, leaving it still glazed with an icy glow. The two crowds of students are going wild despite nothing happening yet. It's deafening loud and I am unable to hear a single coherent speech from anyone. On the bright side at least it's sort of sunny, making it easier on the eyes to watch the match.
As I said, being born royalty has many privileges. One of them being that people don't have the courage to have a dispute with me, unless you're Malfoy. In this case, students let me occupy the front row with me and my friends. Camden is also here in the front row with his mates.
"Can we address how fortunate it is that the Lady of Willoughby is not dating anyone!" A shout is heard across the pitch and I look as to where that sound came from. The professors' box and our favourite commentator, Lee Jordan. Laughs and a few wolf whistles are audible, I shake my head with a smile. "Respectfully! I say that with respect! She gets prettier and prettier every year! No offence to Lord Harlow, the girls love him!" I look to Camden who rolls his eyes jokingly.
"Jordan!" Professor McGonagall scolds him. "The game hasn't started and you're making comments about a student!"
"She's more than a student Professor— Okay, okay, I'm sorry— OH LOOK!"
From one end, the Gryffindor players come striding out with their team Captain in the lead, Angelina Johnson. Same goes for the other end of the pitch with Graham Montague leading the Slytherins.
Cormac waves at me and I reciprocate. I spin around very quickly to show him the red ribbon in my hair, though he misses it as he's too far away from me. Aw bummer.
"Right! Welcome to Hogwarts opening match! Slytherin vs Gryffindor!" Jordan claps with one hand, his megaphone in the other.
I clap with everyone else and I look down at the pitch with a clear vision. Graham shakes Johnson's hand and I can just imagine it hurting, it probably feels like the death grip of Marcus Flint. All the players get on their brooms and hover in their rightful positions. Madam Hooch waits until everyone is ready and silent.
WHOO-WHOO!
At her whistle, the Quaffle is released and the game officially begins.
"Come on Slytherin!" I chant with my crowd as we try to overshadow the roar of the Gryffindors.
Montague has the Quaffle and from what I can make out, he purposefully passes it to Blaise so that Pucey — near the goals — can score for them. A Bludger is sent out to attack Alicia Spinnet to which George Weasley responds by defending her and sending a Bludger to one of our Chasers. Blaise is in possession of the Quaffle and I can feel Daphne jumping up and down beside me. Johnson and Spinnet both catch up to Blaise. But that's not the only thing catching up to Blaise, oh dear. I really do hope that he knows there's an incoming Bludger.
