Inferno. An intense raging fire or a state that resembles Hell.

That's how the Duchess of Willoughby felt when she gave birth to her second child.

Clarissa Harlow never visualised for her life to be this way; in a happy marriage with a Duke and having two perfect, healthy children with him.

She's a beautiful brainy woman who grew up in a well-respected pureblood wizarding family in China, the Huangs. At the age of only eleven, Clarissa was accepted to a British boarding school called Hogwarts. She agreed, migrating to the island with a wide vocabulary of English from all her studying.

Clarissa quickly developed a passion for potions, inventing the Wolfsbane Potion when she was only a student to treat the symptoms of lycanthropy.

She believes that life offers and removes opportunities. For that, she exchanged her chances of becoming a brilliant potioneer for love.

Andrew Harlow descended from a long and ancient line of pureblood nobles. Being a part of the aristocrat never made him feel different from anyone, he's always been quite humble. That's one of the reasons why Clarissa fell in love with him.

He declined to go to Ilvermorny like his ancestors and decided to go to Hogwarts, seeing as he had received an acceptance letter, where he met the love of his life.

His parents were supportive of Clarissa seeing as she's from an ideal background.

Shortly after, the now-late Duke, William Harlow unexpectedly passed. Helen Harlow refused to rule without her husband and so, she asked her only son.

He agreed.

The Dukedom was officially in the hands of twenty-one-year-old Andrew Harlow during the First Wizarding War.

He's now one of the finest dukes the wizarding world has ever seen.

Both Clarissa and Andrew grew up similarly so they understood each other very well, they both never grew up with the prejudiced teachings most pureblood families teach their kids about Muggles and anyone else who isn't pure being inferior.

They have a better understanding of the people who are looked down upon in society, having better morals. Though, they aren't flawless. They don't try and help those who are treated badly, they mostly ignore them. Unless the situation is inside Willoughby, then it will be dealt with.

When Clarissa and Andrew had their children, they brought them up to be as free as possible. Allowing them to make their own decisions on how to view the world. Letting them follow their own paths and inclinations.

However, the couple opposed the idea that their daughter was accepted to Ilvermorny instead of Hogwarts. But as time went on, there was no envelope sealed with a red stamp addressed to the Lady, so they wrote back to Ilvermorny confirming Adriana's acceptance.

The young Harlow liked it there, she was discreetly acknowledged as the best witch amongst all the students. But, she never received any praise for her knowledge and charisma as Ilvermorny is a school believing to act upon equality.

Adriana never felt as if she truly belonged. Sure she defies expectations and is a breaker of boundaries making her a Thunderbird in Ilvermorny. Yet she's selfish, ambitious and competitive. Driven for success and everything she desires under any circumstance, even meaning if she has to be ruthless.

The girl dearly wished that she could find solace at a place she could call her "second home" like all her friends.

And she eventually did. Just somewhere in Scotland, when that long-awaited envelope of glory came before her third year.

Life will never run smoothly, there are always ups and downs.

Peaks and rock bottoms.

Celebrations and conflicts.

For Adria, her make or break happens to be a boy.
