You know the term "All you need is love"? Yeah, no. Nope. Not for me. Excuse me, but I'd much rather wake up and eat breakfast, not someone's dirty face.
It's Boxing Day and seriously, it's disturbing seeing so many people snogging at half past eight in the morning, in the hallways.
Daphne and I woke up late this morning, she was up all night talking to me about her romantic little night with Blaise in the Astronomy Tower. They sat, ate food and talked about deep topics like life and death. Okay, not death but stuff about their childhood and what happened during that time.
Upon entering the Great Hall, I had already gotten a few stares and glares, especially one from Haine. It's not unusual, I'm one of the most respected people but, my gut tells me that this attention is unwanted. There are not too many people here since a lot of people are too busy doing their own things (cough, snogging, cough). Not to mention, there is not a single teacher in sight. Oh, I don't even want to wonder about their activities.
"Adria." Blaise snaps me out of my thoughts with his serious voice as he sits me down. "Your owl dropped these off, you might want to check it." He hands me the regular Witch Weekly and a letter, I put them on my lap not bothered to look, I eye everyone down and feel like I should be slightly concerned.
Parkinson snarls at me, Malfoy doesn't bother to look at me or make any insulting comment as he does most of the time, Tracey has a serious countenance but I can tell she wants to laugh, Milly is as calm as always and Theo is lost.
I pour a goblet of water, taking a sip and looking down-
SPLAT!
"Darling, what's the matter?"
Daphne pats my back with force as I choke, the sip of water I had on the floor now. I feel sick.
I. Feel. Sick.
"AHHHHH!"
I scream, turning to Daphne with the most distraught look I've ever had in my life. The panic, fear and distress builds and builds inside of me. If I thought that a lot of students were watching me as I entered the Great Hall, now everyone is and just as I thought, it is unwanted.
On my lap is a copy of Which Weekly. Not just any ordinary Witch Weekly. No. I slam it onto the table examining it, not wanting to go further.
The secret love between Adriana Harlow and Draco Malfoy.
Oh. My. Life. Is. Over.
Daphne's eyes are just as wide as mine. I close my eyes, trembling and flipping a page over to get rid of that headline. Merlin, Salazar this has to be a sick joke. The next page will not have my name on it. The next page will not have my name on it.
