This chapter will be in,
DRACO MALFOY'S POV.

***

Rumour has it that Slytherin always hosts the most unforgettable parties. But, the sole reason I am present at this party full of disorderly people in the first place is because Theo is the one playing music, and I cannot pass up the opportunity to witness his crowd management skills.

Yet, I could be utilising my time more productively, such as repairing the Vanishing Cabinet as my (only) example. But, it is midnight, and a certain someone always reprimands me for working at this hour as they want me to get more sleep, which is madly cute.

Standing by the drink station, I rhythmically tap my fingers on the table in accordance with the pulsating music as I take note of the dimly lit room, bathed in a dark green tint, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere. As I continue to scan the space, I catch sight of dancing silhouettes moving energetically, some of them even singing along to the tunes that echo around us. Over by the couches, people are involved in card drinking games, as their laughter and shouts punctuate the music, while at the tables, others are participating in Quidditch Pong, yet another drinking game.

I swirl the firewhisky in my glass, looking at the dark liquid that dances, occasionally catching the light. But, I have no intention of letting go of my inhibitions this evening, as I am committed to maintaining my reputation and decency, which will never be compromised by the reckless actions induced by alcohol. Furthermore, I am of the opinion that alcohol does not hold much appeal.

"Move out of the way!" Grant Harrison, a seventh-year student who is clearly under the influence of alcohol, makes an effort to push me aside in pursuit of more liquor; it is truly perplexing why he would attempt to push me when the station provides sufficient space for more than one person.

I have never held a favourable opinion of this particular daft troll, and there are numerous rational reasons for my dislike, for instance: his persistent tendency to engage in flirtatious behaviour with anyone possessing a uterus, his evident lack of intellect, his inclination towards laziness, and so forth. It is improbable that Harrison has ever been fond of me either, considering the strained relationship between our parents and, dare I say, my parents have exceptional judgement.

"Ay boy," Harrison greets me with a smirk, his red eyes locking onto mine. "tell your father I said hello, oh wait, you can't, he's in Azkaban right now."

As he laughs, boisterously and mockingly, I act on impulse and seize him by the collar of his shirt, all the while anger runs through my veins, causing me to grip his collar tighter, my knuckles turning white with the force of my grip as he continues laughing.

The fact that he is drunk is of no concern to me; nobody makes such remarks about my family like that.

"Mate!" Blaise intervenes to separate me from Harrison, and the troll, wearing a self-satisfied expression, stumbles away with his drink. It is a relief that Blaise has finally arrived after spending hours getting ready; without him, this party would be insufferable. But, I still wish to leave, I am tired of being surrounded by these brainless idiots.

"I want to go, some people piss me off." I vocalise my thoughts to Blaise while watching Harrison take a seat next to Etain Haine, who is clad in an ultraviolet purple dress, as he pulls her closer to him by draping his arm around her, appearing to grow increasingly comfortable together. I turn around to Blaise again, this time my expression marked by a frown.

Conversations regarding my father tend to provoke me. I find it intolerable, particularly when it comes from Slytherins who speak of him with little regard or mock him, despite many of them having Death Eater parents and relatives of their own. At least I am better than them, for I am a Death Eater myself; once I fulfil my task, I am sure that the Dark Lord will hold me in his highest esteem — assuming, of course, that I am able to achieve success...
