Maybe I should just sleep in all day. Pretend that I caught a cold or something medical.
No, I won't do that. He should be the one who is ashamed, not me. Yeah! I've got no shame. If I come across him, his sorry arse better feel so much humiliation that it deflates his ego.
It's a non-sunny Sunday and I haven't seen Malfoy since our... Kiss. He wasn't at dinner yesterday which was a bit concerning but in the end, I don't care. Not one bit.
I managed to keep my mouth shut from telling Daphne — only God knows what she would think of me. Maybe a monster? Ugh, I will not let this minor mishap blow up everything good in my life.
Since I was the first to get ready, mainly to avoid everyone, I made my way alone to the Great Hall for breakfast. And of course, I stumble into the one person that I was just thinking about. Except not really. He's by the marble staircase talking to two very familiar voices. I was proven correct when I see their faces. Though this may not be the wisest choice, I hide behind the plant pots to hear.
"You're so strong." Charlotte Beverly giggles. "You must train so often to have such nice muscles."
To my utter disgust, Etain puts her hand on Malfoy's arm to squeeze and caress his muscles. Despite not eating, I swear I can feel myself wanting to regurgitate.
"I love strong men and I love how bad they are when they fight." Etain sort of growls. "I love it when they get aggressive."
Bloody hell, have some decorum will you? Well, never mind. That's the wrong person to say that to.
"You looked so hot punching that good-for-nothing McLaggen." Etain twirls her hair.
Malfoy folds his arms with a writ large smirk on his face.
Yeah go on you bloody bastard. You stole my first kiss and now you're immediately running to other girls. How dare your lowly-life-self feel so unbothered, so unprivileged? God I swear I hate you. You just simply couldn't handle me could you? I bet couldn't you insufferable little piece of—
"Uh, Lady Harlow?"
I nearly jump and blow up my disguise when Alden Crowther approaches me with deep curiosity.
"What are you doing?"
"Checking for dust in the plants." I dust the plant pot. "Oh, all clear."
You blithering idiot Adria. Checking for dust on plants, how pathetic is that? At least it's better than saying that you're watching two utter morons sucking up to the most loathsome person known to man.
The hall starts to fill up with more people so I easily blend in with them, that's when I noticed the new educational decree carried out by Professor Umbridge. Quidditch is now banned and anyone who talks about the unfortunate incident will be in serious trouble. This means that the game yesterday was completely useless. We wouldn't have been disqualified, not when nobody will be winning the house cup this year. What a shame, last year the games were cancelled as well.
Behind me are a few Hufflepuffs who, break the rule, and discuss the event. They're beyond disappointed that they won't be able to watch their team play; they also talk about what type of sanction Malfoy received. I never even thought of it. Now that's it's been brought to my attention, he should be expelled. It's unbelievable how he's not. Let me guess, Lucius paid for him to stay. According to one of the Hufflepuffs, he's only got a week of detentions set by Umbridge due to him being a prefect with a reasonably good reputation.
My arse. Good reputation where? Oh yeah good reputation when he mistreats so many people.
Hearing all of this makes my blood boil. Argh! I just want to Crucio Umbridge and strangle the bloody ferret until he turns blue! But, I can not. I have to remind myself that Umbridge is just prejudiced, especially because Lucius works for the Ministry. Oh right, how did Malfoy's parents react to their son beating the life out of another student? They must've paid compensation to Mr McLaggen, it's the least I'm expecting.
