Snow, oh glorious snow. The white miracle of nature. Thank God for the Scottish Highlands and its typical weather.

It's only the start of November and it has never been more beautiful. Snow fell lightly last night. Of course, there will be much more snow expected in December and January but, even this is already quite enough.

Growing up in Wales, there was hardly any snow. I didn't mind, I just would've preferred if my Christmas was snowy and white. America was a whole new experience for me. For the first time ever, snow was heavy. It felt euphoric, like stepping into a pixie-tale because never in my life have I ever seen snow stretch that far.

Anyway, it's the end of the school day and everyone's free period spans from four to six. So, what else is there to look forward to other than playing in the snow? Nothing, duh.

I change out of my uniform into warmer clothing. A thick woolly jumper, trousers and my winter boots. I also bring a jacket and some gloves with me.

Daphne, Tracey and I all run up to the courtyard from the dungeons. We tread past the carpet of crunchy snow and my word, it feels amazing. The cold air stings my face and I bury my gloved hands into my pockets to prevent frostbite.

Students from many houses and years run around like maniacs. Though, I did expect a lot more people. Perhaps they're used to the weather by now as there are mainly children here.

Alden Crowther is making a snow wizard with his friends. It is quite ugly looking. I wonder who gave them the inspiration to make it look like that. The snow wizard is made up of three snowballs of different sizes, large, medium then small. There is a pointed hat and a Slytherin scarf around the snow wizard with a carrot for the nose and brown button chocolate for the eyes. For the mouth, it is magically charmed to flash out a toothy smile making it look uncanny, to say the least.

It's ironic how I expected more people to be roaming around when the last person I'd like to see is also here. Blaise and Theo are absolute angels. Okay, maybe not really Theo but hey, he's nothing compared to Malfoy. Malfoy is nefarious, he might possibly be the devil incarnated as a man. Look at him throwing snowballs at the poor kids— Oh and it hit one in the face. Oh dear. These children need to retaliate against this tyrant, he's ruining all their fun.

"Hey Harlow!" Malfoy shouts out to me, watching me saunter, with a ball of snow in his hands. "Tell me how this feels!"

POOF!

Tracey cracks up into a fit of laughter seeing my snow-covered face and bits of hair.

"Nice aim Draco!" Daphne calls out.

Nice aim my arse.

Annoyed, I roll my own snowball in my hands. How that idiot should like a taste of his own medicine. It's cold and unpleasant. The snow hit my face harshly and not to mention, children laughed at me.

I stomp down until I reach Malfoy. He isn't turned facing me so I tug his hair. The moment I do, I slam the snowball in his face. Just out of my own enjoyment, I rub the snow in his face.

He doesn't react, instead, he drops something heavy in the hood of my jacket. Before I could even comprehend that it was snow, he put my hood over my head.

"Malfoy!" I scream as there's now a lump of snow at the top of my head. My poor beloved hair. The snow travels down my back and hangs onto my jumper. I freeze as I feel the snowflakes against the warmth of my skin.

He snickers, "Try to attack me again Harlow and you'll see worse."

Useless threats. Whatever he does, I do better. And I've got a brilliant plan to execute...
