     After NWH

Peter was only 19 when it had happened. He didn't mean for it to happen, it wasn't his fault. But he couldn't help it.

It was a little girl, only about two months old. A mom held her looking fearful. When she saw Peter, she shoved the girl into his arms and ran away.

He had stood there in the rain holding a bundle of blankets. He ran to the orphanage nearby immediately, but as soon as he saw her big brown eyes staring up at him, he knew he couldn't do it.

So, he took her home and did his best to raise her. He named her Marion and called her May, for short. Which was a terrible idea. He had to balance working at the Bugle, his Stark Internship that somehow still existed. Rent, groceries, Spider-Man, which took up most of his time, and May. And yet he still managed to pay the daycare, patrol around the city, get pictures for the Bugle, do his best at the internship, and afford to feed him and Marion.

"Okay, go take your shoes off and I'll make macaroni and cheese." Peter told the little girl as he closed the apartment door behind him.

"Okay bubby!" Marion responded and ran off. Peter thought that her calling him dad sounded weird, so he gave her other names to call him. Bubby was one of them. When she came back, she quickly sat down at the small kitchen table and took out some coloring pages. Peter put the noodles on the stove and sat down beside her. "Watcha' colorin' May?" He asked.

"Spider-Man! He's the coolest! Dad, do you meet Spider-Man at your interstate finals?" She responded.

"I've met him a couple of times yeah." Peter didn't respond to the fact that she could say interstate finals, but she couldn't say internship.

"Is he the coolest Bubs?"

"Yea. He's aight." Peter gave her a pat on her shoulder then went to the kitchen. Marion quickly followed him.

"One day. I wanna' be a superhero like Ms. Morgan Stark!" Marion jumped onto the counter and did a Superman pose.

"Ms. Stark is just a kid." Peter told her placing the child on the ground.

"So are you? You look like one." Marion giggled.

"I'll take that as a compliment. And May, we've had this conversation soooo many times. I'm-"

"Twenty-five!" Marion cut him off and made her voice insanely deep.

"I don't sound like that." Peter folded his arms over his chest, and she did the same.

"You do now!" Peter lunged at her playfully, but she dodged it giggling like mad.

"At least I don't sound like a fairy princess." Peter joked. Picking her up and placing her over his shoulder.

"YAY! I sound like a fairy princ'ss!" Peter chuckled and tickled her a little bit. There was one thing about Marion that intrigued him besides her personality in general. That little girl could play rough. She would hurt you more that you hurt her. And the easier you take it on the little girl, the more you'll realize that it was a big mistake.

Peter tucked Marion into bed later that night knowing she was satisfied with her small meal. "Love you, Bubby." Marion yawned, closing her eyes. Peter stroked her hair and smiled as she began to fall asleep. He kissed her on the forehead. "Love you too." He said. He for no reason at all boarded up the front door and deadbolted the windows. All except for his bedroom window. Then he quietly slipped out of the window and swung away.

He returned earlier that morning and smiled to himself when he saw that Marion was still asleep. He quickly changed out of his suit and looked at the clock. It was 6am.

He started breakfast then went to put on some clothes. "Daddy?" Peter heard her say. He turned around after flipping a pancake. Marion was standing there rubbing her eyes sleepily. "Good morning princess." He greeted. She ran towards him and gave him a hug. "Ready for pancakes?" She nodded then ran to the kitchen table. Peter plated two pancakes and placed them in front of her. Peter ran to grab two hair elastics and hairbows. He did her hair like this but with a bigger blue bow.

"Mission accomplished, thank you YouTube." He said. The he realized that he had left Pancakes on the stove. And frowned. "And... they're burnt. Oh, well. I guess." He plated those on a plastic plate, then grabbed Marion's shoes and coat. "Come on darling." Peter called to her unlocking the door.

The Peter quickly realized that she was still in Pajamas.

After getting her dressed they headed to the daycare which opened at 7am. "Hello Mr. Riley." Y/n greeted him. She worked at the daycare all day, everyday. (A/n: Does anyone else feel like Peter changed his name after NWH? I think it would've been Ben Riley. What about you guys?) "Hey! I'm checking in Marion."

"Right. Do you have your credits?"

"How many do I need?"

"Thirty credits sir." Peter took out his phone and opened the daycare paying app. He still had forty credits left over.

"Bubs, I want to go in." Marion whined impatiently. Y/n raised an eyebrow but didn't question anything. Peter scanned his phone with the scanner on the front desk.

"Okay... she's all set."

"Thanks," then Peter bent down to talk to Marion. "Okay, so when you get in, what are the rules?"

Marion was chipper in an instant. "No hitting anyone, listen to the grownups, and absolutely no talking to strangers!"

"And if someone comes in saying that they know me?" Peter asked standing up.

"Walk away and tell a grownup!" Marion saluted then she walked in place while turning around. And finally, she pointed to Y/n with Peter. Y/n smiled at the exchange.

"Nice! Okay go have fun and learn something. Love you."

"Love ya'!" Marion ran off to go play with the other kids on the indoor playground. Peter smiled proudly. Sure, he was a single dad. But single dads can be pretty cool. And that's exactly what he was.

A/n: There may be a part 2. We'll have to see.
