"You're a fan of mine?" I asked, shocked. I felt kind of bad I didn't know much about them now.

"Yeah. Felix, Han and I watched your first drama. The Maze was quite the show. I really enjoyed it. You were like 19 at the time?" He asked, and he turned to his computer and started typing in his password.

"Wow." I said with a smile, he was really kind, "Thank you hyung."

"No problem." He smiled with a cute chuckle, "So...this song."

"Yeah. We should talk about it, but I don't have any idea how to make songs. Will you teach me?" I asked, excited to learn something despite it not being something that I needed to learn for my role.

"You want to learn to make music?" Chan asked surprised and I nodded, "Then of course. The only thing is...I'm in a bit of a mind blank right now."

"A mind blank? Like you have no ideas?" I asked, and I looked around the room, hoping something might come to mind to help him.

"Yeah..." Chan sighed, "We've recently wrote a love song so I'm kind of out of ideas about love."

I nodded slightly, sinking deeper into the cushioned seat of my chair, my legs still pulled tightly to my chest in a protective embrace. My gaze drifted over to Chan, who sat across from me, exuding an air of confidence that only comes with years of experience. I knew he was older, his seasoned presence a reminder of how long he had navigated the complexities of the industry—far longer than my own journey.

A flicker of curiosity sparked within me; I couldn't help but wonder if he had ever found himself entangled in secret affairs—hidden romances that might have shaped his artistic expression or coloured his performances. The thought swirled around in my mind: had he ever felt the thrill of liking someone amidst the chaos of his fame as a popular idol? What stories lay behind those collected eyes? Surely, there were moments, unrecognized by the public, that shaped who he was today. The allure of his past relationships seemed like a well of inspiration.

"Chan hyung?" I whispered out, nervous to ask, "Have you ever been in a relationship?"

He turned to me abruptly, his gaze locking onto mine, and for a brief moment, the air between us thickened with an unspoken tension. I felt my heart race as I registered the surprise reflected in his wide eyes. A wave of realization washed over me: I had crossed a line, and now I had unintentionally created an awkward, almost tangible atmosphere that hung between us like a heavy fog.

In an effort to break the silence, I let out a nervous cough, the sound clumsy and out of place. I quickly averted my gaze from his penetrating stare, feeling heat creep into my cheeks as embarrassment settled in. Who do I think I am? I had only just met him, and despite the ease we had shared moments before, my boldness felt misguided. I chastised myself internally—this was hardly the time to pry into personal matters. I resolved to tread lightly, recognizing that such questions were reserved for deeper connections, not for new acquaintances.

"I'm sorr-"

"No." Chan whispered out, "I haven't been in a relationship...ever."

I looked at him, he was kind of staring into space. I felt bad for asking something so sensitive, and now he was thinking hard about his love life. I didn't want him to feel bad, and the only other thing I could think of was embarrassing myself too.

"Me neither!" I said loudly, and his eyes snapped to mine, "I haven't either."

He chuckled and turned back to his computer, I watched as he opened some apps.

"At least you're young." He muttered with a smile, and I shuffled closer to him.

"Hyung, you're young too." I laughed, and shoved his shoulder lightly with mine. I gulped, anxious for what he might say next.

"Yeah. I turn 25 in a few weeks. Before our next comeback." Chan said, and I turned to him with a smile.

"I'll make sure to get you a big present hyung! When is it?" I asked excitedly.

If there's another thing I love, it's buying people presents! I could window shop for ages and shop for presents for hours, by the end of the long night, I could walk out with a whole store. There's nothing cuter than watching someone's reaction to something you bought them. It brings me so much happiness to buy people things that they might not expect. I like that acting allows me to buy a lot of great things, especially for my parents too.

"The 3rd of Oct." Chan chuckled, "But you don't have to get me anything Korain-ah."

"I will. Just you wait!" I chuckled and he smiled at me.

"Then, your hyung will get you something for your birthday too." He cheesed and I laughed.

"Yeah, next year. Unfortunately my birthday passed a week ago." I said and he let out an 'ahhh' and nodded.

"I'll put it in my calendar." That was cute. I will also put his birthday in my calendar.

"Hyung I was thinking...which part of the song do you make first?" I asked.

"Usually the instrumental." Chan said and I watched as he just sat and looked at the music app on his laptop. He messed around and opened some sample sounds.

"Can we put a harp in there?" I asked, harps just seem every romantic and stuff.

I watched as Chan's fingers moved on on his laptop, and the mouse on the screen was moving along with it. He opened more samples, the names of the sound files random and disorganised, yet Chan navigated his way through the samples like the back of his hand, and found some harp sounds. I listened to them and they sounded beautiful. I smiled and clapped.

"Something like that hyung, and definitely piano!" I said and he chuckled.

"I'll spend some time experimenting and creating something, I'll try to include the harp and piano." Chan said as he sighed and leaned back in his chair.

"Perhaps, you should do things differently and try writing down the lyrics first this time?" I suggested, and Chan nodded along slightly dissatisfied.

"Perhaps you shouldn't of come today, my mind blank is doing nothing to help us." Chan said, his lips pouted in disappointment.

"Hyung, I'm here to help." I said softly, sensing his disappointment. He looked at me and smiled softly, his plump lips were incredibly pretty. I felt him pat my head softly, so I smiled.

"Okay. Do you want to come up with some lyrics? Then I can say you helped write the song." Chan smiled and I nodded happily.

"I write ideas in my phone, just speak out loud and we'll see what we come up with." Chan mumbled as he reached for his phone.

"Okay. Can there be lyrics about not caring about what anyone says because it's a relationship that could be frowned upon?" I said quickly.

"Sure, but we have to make it poetic." Chan smiled and laughed at my ideas.

"Something like 'Sorry that I like you.' because my character is somewhat hesitant at one point because he feels that he is making her embarrassed that a young man is chasing after her. He feels the need to apologise for chasing her around when she pushes him away." I explained and I watched as he nodded and typed down a few words...in English?

"You know English?" I asked him surprised, and he smiled again. I watched as his lips pulled back into a beautiful smile.

"Yeah. I'm from Australia." He announced and I nodded with a 'o' mouth.

"Ohhhh, it might be a good idea for some on the song to be English but I guess that's up to the song maker." I said with a smile, and he wrote it down in Korean.

"I'm not sure yet." Chan announced and I nodded, "Sorry Rain-ah, this song might take me longer than expected."

"Hyung." I placed my hand on his shoulder, "We have lots of time. Take your time and come up with something really good."
