MBA 34: Extra Chapter pt.2

Lan Sizhui had always known that he wanted to become a veterinarian. After years of hard work and dedication, he finally graduated from veterinary school and passed his licensure exam with flying colors. He was now a fully licensed doctor with his own veterinary clinic near his parent's house.

One sunny afternoon, as Sizhui was going about his usual routine, a young man entered the clinic, cradling a sickly-looking cat in his arms. 

"Hello, Doctor Lan," Zizhen greeted with a warm smile as he approached the reception desk. "I'm Ouyang Zizhen, and this is my cat, Mochi. I think something's wrong with him." Zizhen's family was well-known in the town as traders, and he had grown up with a fascination for animals, particularly cats.

Sizhui couldn't help but notice the worry in Zizhen's eyes as he gently placed Mochi on the examination table. Sizhui began his examination, asking questions and running tests to determine the cause of Mochi's illness. Throughout the process, Zizhen watched intently, his concern for his feline friend evident.

After diagnosing and treating Mochi, Sizhui turned to Zizhen with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Mr. Ouyang. Mochi is going to be just fine. It was a minor issue, and he should recover soon with the medication I prescribed."

Zizhen's face lit up with relief, and he couldn't help but admire Sizhui's expertise and gentle demeanor. "Thank you, Doctor Lan. You've been a lifesaver."

Sizhui chuckled modestly. "It's my pleasure to help animals and their owners."

As Zizhen paid for the consultation and medication, he suddenly blurted out, "Doctor Lan, would you like to have dinner with me tonight? I mean, as a thank you for saving Mochi."

Sizhui blinked in surprise, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. He hadn't expected such an offer. "Oh, well, that's very kind of you," he stammered, "I'd be happy to."

That evening, Sizhui and Zizhen enjoyed a delightful dinner at a cozy local restaurant. Conversation flowed easily between them as they discovered shared interests and a mutual love for animals. Zizhen was charmed by Sizhui's kindness and passion for his work, while Sizhui found himself drawn to Zizhen's warmth and genuine nature.

Their first dinner turned into many more dates, each one filled with laughter, shared stories, and a growing connection between them. Sizhui discovered that Zizhen was not only kind but also incredibly thoughtful and caring.

One day, Sizhui decided it was time to introduce Zizhen to his family. As they arrived at the picturesque home he shared with his parents, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan, Sizhui couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. However, as soon as Zizhen stepped inside, he was greeted with warm smiles and open arms.

"We've heard so much about you, Zizhen," Wei Ying exclaimed, pulling him into a friendly hug. "Welcome to our home!"

Lan Zhan, though more reserved, nodded in agreement. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Zizhen."

Zizhen, overwhelmed by the warmth and acceptance of Sizhui's family, couldn't help but smile. "Thank you, Mr. Wei and Mr. Lan. I've heard a lot about both of you too."

As the evening unfolded, they all shared stories, laughter, and a delicious home-cooked meal. Zizhen felt like he had found not only a wonderful boyfriend in Sizhui but also a second family in the Lans.

In the years that followed, Sizhui's veterinary clinic continued to thrive, and his love for animals remained unwavering. And beside him, supporting him every step of the way, was Zizhen, who had not only fallen in love with Mochi but had also found his own place within the warm embrace of the Lan family.
