"How was your day, Wei Ying?" Uncle Jiang inquired during dinner.

Wei Ying smiled, having grown accustomed to the family's caring inquiries over the years. "It was fine, Uncle," he replied after swallowing a bite of his food.

"Hmm, that's good," Mr. Jiang nodded, satisfied with the response.

Before long, Mrs. Jiang chimed in, "By the way, A'Cheng and A'Li, both of you will accompany A'Xian to get a tailor-made suit."

Jiang Cheng furrowed his brows. "Why?" he asked, lifting his head to meet her gaze.

"It's for a party—the Jin family is hosting an event for their son, Zixuan. It'll be on Saturday, so you'll have enough time to select or purchase your outfits as well," Mrs. Jiang explained. Jiang Yanli's face lit up with excitement; she might finally have the chance to speak to Jin Zixuan, someone she had admired since their first year at university, though she had never mustered the courage to express her feelings.

Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng exchanged glances before stifling their laughter. Despite her attempts to conceal her excitement, they could see right through her. Jiang Yanli's face turned pink as she averted her eyes from their knowing looks.

"What's going on?" Mr. Jiang inquired when he noticed the two brothers chuckling under their breath.

They both shook their heads. "Nothing, Father," Jiang Cheng replied, suppressing his laughter with a spoonful of food in his mouth.

"Take it seriously, we need to look our best since all the prominent families will be attending," Mrs. Jiang interjected, causing the two to cease their amusement, while Jiang Yanli listened attentively.

"Yes," the three of them chimed in unison.

"Good, now eat!" she commanded sternly, and they quietly finished their dinner.

After dinner, they each headed to their respective rooms. Wei Ying was about to sit down at his study table when there was a knock at his door. He turned his head towards it, curious as to why his aunt had come to his room. He opened the door for her and asked, "Yes, Auntie?"

Wei Ying's brows furrowed as he noticed the pills in her hand. Mrs. Jiang had come to remind him about his impending heat cycle. She handed him the medication, and Wei Ying's eyes welled up with gratitude. He gave a slight bow as he accepted the medication from her.

"I will. Thank you, Auntie," Wei Ying said with a grateful smile. Mrs. Jiang patted his head affectionately before leaving his room.

Once Mrs. Jiang was out of sight, Wei Ying closed the door and sat at his study table. He gazed at the pills for a moment before placing them in his drawer and turning his attention to his books.

The following morning, they arrived at the university early enough not to be in a rush. As they walked, Jiang Yanli bid her farewell upon reaching a crossing, playfully patting the heads of her two younger brothers.

"We're not kids anymore!" they both exclaimed, frowning at the familiar gesture.

She laughed at their reaction. "She really treats us like kids," Jiang Cheng grumbled as he walked backward, watching his sister's departure.

Still caught up in his thoughts, Jiang Cheng didn't expect what happened next. All he heard was Wei Ying's warning, "Jiang Cheng, look out!" It was too late to prevent the collision. Jiang Cheng bumped into someone, causing books to scatter on the ground.

Jiang Cheng hastily bent down to collect the books and offered them to the person he had collided with. After picking them all up, he bowed in apology for his clumsiness.

The young lady straightened up and dusted off her clothes before accepting the books from Jiang Cheng. "It's okay," she said with a soft smile, which was both beautiful and endearing, the kind of smile that could brighten a gloomy day.

"I'm Jiang Cheng. Would you like me to escort you to the infirmary to check if you're injured?" Jiang Cheng offered, concerned that he might have injured the lovely maiden in front of him.

The young lady smiled warmly at him. "No, I'm fine," she assured him, waving her hand to decline his kind offer.

"Are you sure?" Jiang Cheng asked once more, furrowing his brows with worry.

She flashed him the sweetest smile he had ever seen. "Yes," she responded, giggling softly, finding Jiang Cheng's concern adorable.

"By the way, what's your name?" he asked politely.

"I'm Wen Qing," she introduced herself, her angelic smile leaving Jiang Cheng's heart in turmoil.

"Nice to meet you. See you around," Jiang Cheng replied with a smile, mentally making a promise that if fate allowed, he would ask for her number the next time they crossed paths. Baby steps.

As Jiang Cheng's thoughts revolved around Wen Qing, Wei Ying broke the silence. "Hey, Jiang Cheng, doesn't she look somewhat familiar?" he inquired.

Jiang Cheng stopped in his tracks, furrowing his brows as he tried to recall where he had seen that face before. "I think you're right!" he said, somewhat uncertain if he had pieced it together correctly.

"Now I remember, she's Shijie's friend!" Wei Ying exclaimed. "So, she's a medical student like Shijie," he added, nodding in agreement as they connected the dots.

Jiang Cheng smiled, 'Now I know where to find her,' he thought, chuckling to himself.

"You're being creepy," Wei Ying teased, his brows furrowing as he hugged himself and acted as though he were afraid of Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng frowned and slapped Wei Ying's shoulder, clicking his tongue in response.

Wei Ying laughed and ran ahead. Before Jiang Cheng could react, Wei Ying was already out of his grasp.

"Stop right there! You—!" Jiang Cheng ran after Wei Ying, who continued to laugh and tease him.

Somewhere on campus, Lan Zhan was on his way to his first-period class when he was interrupted by the sound of laughter echoing through the hallway. His attention was drawn to the noise.

His gaze was immediately captivated by Wei Ying. He found himself staring intently at him, examining him from head to toe. 'His scent lingers in his wake, trailing behind him wherever he goes,' Lan Zhan thought as he caught a whiff of Wei Ying's scent. 'It's sweet.'

"Tsk."

Lan Zhan shook his head, annoyed with himself for getting caught up in the sweetness of the scent, and he dismissed whatever was stirring within him.
