Act 4 | Year 2024: Awake

May 2024,

Minjeong: H-How is he? Will he get out of it?

Doctor: I don't know Winter-ssi. Now it depends on him.

Doctor replied with solemn face. Minjeongs eyes widened before turning back to my bed side. The doctor seeing the solemn mood, decided to leave us be. She sat back right next to me before tears slowly started to drop.

Minjeong: H-Hey.... P-Please wake up... I-I can't do this without you.... R-Rose's been waiting for you.... I-I haven't confess to you... 

She slowly played with my hands as tears started to fall freely.

Minjeong: I miss you so much.... I've been strong for the past two weeks.... B-But I don't think I can hold it any lo-longer....

She rested her head on my mind praying for my safety. Yet, the worse thing was yet to happen.

*beep

*Beep

*BEep

*BEEP!!!!

The machine that was attached to me was starting to beep really loudly. Minjeong's eyes widened at the flat line and the big number 0 that was on it. Panicking, she stood up before rushing to call for the doctor.

Minjeong: DO-DOCTOR!! HE-HELP!! HE'S FLATLINING!!

Quickly, multiple doctors and nurses came in a rush. All alert that my life was on the line. Minjeong was then pushed outside the room to make way for the doctors to come in.

Nurse: We have code blue in room 42! Miss, we need you to leave this room now.

Minjeong: What's going on!? What's happening to him!?

Nurse: The doctors will do their best to save him. We need you to wait outside.

Without further explanation, Minjeong was thrown outside the room before the room was locked from the inside. Tears started to flow as she desperately tried to open the room. What made her heart shatter was when  the doctor pried my shirt off to check my pulse. 

Minjeong: No no no no! NO! KILLIAN!!! PLEASE!!!

Seeing my lifeless body was probably her last straw. The nurse around there, pried her off the door as she slowly sunk to the ground. Wailing as loudly as she can before she passed out from exhaustion.

It felt like an eternity for her. She kept constantly praying at the waiting room. Eyes red from crying as she rocked herself back and forth trying to keep calm. Soon, the doctor came out with the news that she never wanted to hear.

Doctor: I'm sorry.... He didn't make it.

Minjeong: W-What....

Doctor: This will be the final time to say goodbye. I already called his parents and they're on the way now.. I'm sorry for your loss..

Minjeong's world had finally crumbled. Her legs left her before she plunged to the ground. Eyes widened at the fact that I was gone. She wasn't crying. No, she doesn't want to believe her ears. Looking up to the doctor, she pleads to him.
