Iyanna's POV
"They are busy talking and I don't want to intrude" I said to Parry who was still trying to get me into the room where Goffery and two gentlemen were having lunch, while the other men were at the dining table.
"You are a mannerable country girl."
"Sometimes," I replied.
"Just knock on the door, beg a pardon then start talking."
I just keep hearing the words of my father, "Iyanna leave men's business alone."
"OK but only if you come with me or just stay close to me. I am just a little shy."
Parry laughs, "No, you are not," he said then nudged me forward into the room.
Goffery lifted his head from the plate before him.
"Miss Brently, do you need something?" Gofffery asked when he saw me and I almost stumbled from having spaghetti legs due to nervousness.
"Ah- um.. Good day gentlemen, I- ugh-"
Use your word Iyanna, words.
"Speak up Miss Brently," said Goffery.
The men were very attentively looking at me and it made the words I was trying to say even harder to come out.
Miss Brentlt" Goffery said again.
"Miss Brently has a suggestion about fixing the water issue on the Vineyard Mr. Valant," Parry said.
"What are your suggestions Miss Brently?'' Goffery asked.
Come Iyanna just talk now and get it over with.
"Well I was told that the main pipe at the vineyard is broken and repairs won't be done for a while."
"Yes, that is true," Goffery said.
So I suggest that you could get a couple of attachable hoses to run water from here to the main pipe that supplies the vineyard." I said then the room got really quiet.
'What do you know about that young lady?' one of the gentlemen asked.
"She is from the Farmlands," Goffery answered and a score of "ohs" hit the room.
"Yes I am and being a farm girl, I have watched this happen countless times when we have a drought however this is not a drought and water is available, the hose are the best solution."
Goffery looked at one of the men. "We need some hose," he said. I almost wanted to jump for joy.
"Let's get a good amount, hopefully this suggestion will work" one of the men said.
"I think it's a better idea than having the barrels transferring water to the vineyard and it saves time," the other man added.
"Have you ever been to the Vineyard Miss Brently?"
"No sir, I have never been there," I answered.
He got up from the table and so did the other gentlemen.
"We are going to the vineyard," Goffery said.
"Oh, I guess," I replied. I turned to Parry and he was all smiles.
I allowed the men to lead and I followed close by. Goffery told Parry to gather men and they should go into town to get some hose.
"What's going on?" Micas asked his father as he stepped out of the house.
"Well Miss Brently here just gave us a wonderful idea, how to solve our water problem on the vineyard and I believe it's genius," Goffery gloated.
Jesus, he is going to piss this man off. He glanced at me from the corner of his eyes, then back to his father " What grand Idea is this?" he asked.
