Iyanna's POV

"Aren't you supposed to be out of the kitchen and getting ready for supper?" Thela asked.

Since when she cared about me showing up for supper? Even though I was just sitting in the kitchen watching them.

"I think I will pass on supper tonight."

Mandell Gasp. He could be so dramatic sometimes.

"Haven't you learnt anything about being The Lady of The House?"

Yes, I've learnt that this is a pointless title and should be abolished. No one should have all this nonsense bestowed upon them for no good reasons.

I wonder who was bored and came up with this? I would have not survived in the royal family for sure.

"A lot but some I can overlook and avoid like dinner tonight."

Satte giggled.

"You have guests Miss Brently, it's your—"

"...Your duty to host them and make sure they are comfortable and all the hoopla and everything else." I finished for her.

"So rude," Fian said and I ignored her.

"I am sure Iyanna can take a night off if she wishes," Satte said.

"Mrs. Valant did not think like that, she was always making sure her visitors felt welcome."

"Well Fian I am not Mrs. Valant or wish to even fill her shoes. I chose do my own thing and If I wish to run this house differently from the late Mrs. Valant, who but Mr, Goffery Valant will stop me?"

You could hear a pin drop after I spoke.

"Well Mrs. Micas' Valant if there should ever be one," Fian said.

"I hope you know that will never be you Fian,"

Thela cleared her throat, Mandell hid his face in an open cupboard laughing and Satte, who didn't care laughed right into Fian's face.

"What is so funny inside here?" Eltha entered the kitchen asking.

"I am going to get ready for bed, I hope everyone enjoys supper," I said then walked out of the kitchen.

On my way to my room I saw Derman and Micas sitting downstairs in the foyer playing chess. Derman looked at me and Micas followed his gaze.

"Supper will be served soon," I said.

"Thanks Iyanna," Derman said but Micas just returned to the game before him. I knew he was going to lose anyways because about to play with his focus.

"You are welcome. I hope you enjoy it. It's a special dish from my homeland. I really miss home so I had to prepare this meal."

He looked up from the game and slightly turned his head to look at me from the corner of his eyes. I smiled at them both.

"I am sure I will enjoy every bit of it, Iyanna."

"You will Derman, see you guys around." I said then ran to the stairs and kept going until I reached my room. I close the door and jump into my bed laughing.

The look on Mica's face was priceless. I know he is going to get me back but it's worth it.

I turned my phone on and checked to see if Mera had text me and Indeed she did.
